Copps might be immortal but playing on that pitch is not going to be good for a 39 year old and his joints.

Are either Sads or Cole playing out of position on the right?

Sadlier played on the right and looked better there than on the left. He is naturally two footed so can play both sides.  Cole played as the centre forward as did Okenaberhie when he replaced him after 70 mins.

Sadlier outstanding tonight in a team that all played well. Whiteman had his best game for ages and in the first half held our midfield together.
Ramsey and Gomes were finding it difficult to get on the ball and have any impact on the game in the first half hence we did not create a lot.
Don’t know what DM said at half time but it worked. He obviously told them to get numbers further forward and to move the ball quicker because Both Ramsey and Gomes were very influential along with Whiteman. And we dominated the middle of the park forcing Tranmere to simply launch high balls from either flank into our box playing to Anderson & Wright’s strength in the air.
A very accomplished performance against a poor team. Could have been 6 easily.

M.0.M.  For me Sadlier followed by Joe Wright who won everything in the air and on the floor followed by Whiteman & everyone else.

2 great finishes from Ramsey. He looked a real talent 2nd half. Took him a while to get up to the pace of the game, which is understandable as it was his first one.

If we could get 90+ mins out of Gomes he is going to be a proper player.
He does seem normally to only be in a game for 55/60 mins. His 1st half’s up to tonight have been his best but tonight it was the 2nd half he blossomed as the whole team uped a gear and they gelled together like a well oiled machine. It will come though as he has improved significantly since Christmas. A credit to the coaching staff and to himself of course.

Up front Cole looked the real deal and Okenaberhie  likewise when he came on. Showed he has considerable pace and skill with the ball at his feet and opportunism when scoring his goal.

Based on that tonight and the sheer desire to put Tranmere to the sword which they achieved shows that we have a squad of players now that can go far.
Next 2 games I still think are crucial to our chances. Yes we have 16 to play but 10 are away from home.
We need to win our home games probably 5 out of 6.

28 more points from 16 games maybe 30 required. It’s tough but I think we have a squad and & now the firepower to get us there.

Great decision to rest Copps tonight. Not a Copps pitch. A rest will do him good.
Although i do understand he had a slight ankle injury.

Don’t know how he gets into the team Saturday now. Who do you leave out after tonight?
Pleased that’s DM’s decision and not mine.

Glad that both Coventry and Oxford got an extended run-out last night.......... unfortunately to no avail.

I thought the biggest change in the game came after about 30 minutes, when we pulled Gomes from the attacking mid field role, and was creating nothing, and giving the ball away, and put Jacob Ramsey in the forward role (a lad who can really play) is more comfortable on the ball, and has more vision.
Gomes also responded to the different roll and came into the game breaking play up and playing the simple easy ball,to Whiteman and Ramsey.
In that first thirty minutes Tranmere had us penned back in our own half for much of that period, and John in particular and Halliday were tested by their wide players, and Anderson and Wright had to be on their metal in defence.
The game changed for me when we pushed Ramsey further forward Devante Cole held, and ran with the ball at pace up front, Ennis and Sadlier started to get the ball in wide areas, and ran their full backs down the line and got behind them, And Whiteman was given the space to dominate the midfield and play his game.
A great needed win in the end, a game where most of our players looked on it, but Cameron John not the greatest full back we have ever had, and with James looking on from the side line a strange pick for me.
The best move of the game would have resulted in the goal of the season if not blocked and deflecting the ball over the bar for a corner, it was a move from the right back position right up to their penalty area with first time passing by quite a few players, I wish that had gone in.

Been thinking about the John left back thing. As we now have 6 loanees again do you think DM is pushing John into the line up as if not it would seem a waste of a loan space to have him sat on the bench most of the time unless Wright or Anderson pick up a knock? Not going to take either of them two off during a game with how well they are playing.

Going to be interesting the line up against Rochdale with Lokilo coming in as well.

Played very well last night, Ramsey scoring a brace was great to see and Fejiri getting a great strikers goal, nipping it from the CB and putting it away.
