It came as a bit of a shock to me. It was only yesterday while watching TM that someone mentioned Phil and Holly as a TV husband and wife partnership. It made me wonder if he's ever been in her knickers, then this news came out today.

Back in the 80’s me and some mates were on holiday in Rimini. One evening we met some girls in a bar who took us into to a club they knew a little further down the coast. While we were in the club we all saw an extremely famous pop star who’s band were absolutely huge at the time kissing another man. We were absolutely astounded as this guy was in a band with a huge female following, with no inkling whatsoever that he was Gay. The girls told us that they’d seen him in there with men a few times before. For years afterwards I was waiting for a tabloid paper to ‘out’ him but nothing ever came out. A quick Wikipedia check shows that he’s married with kids. Nowadays with mobile phones I’m sure that some arsehole would’ve taken his photo and flogged it by now, but then we were just pretty shocked. Just shows, that you never really know do you...

Many, many years ago my sister lived in the same apartment block as Mr Schofield. She was shocked when he got married as it was well known he preferred the company of men to women even then.
Sounds like he's been putting up a smokescreen for years to protect his celebrity status so claims that his wife knew nothing about his sexuality seems a little far-fetched.
