I was indeed at that game Idler. It was April 1st and I have mentioned a few times the differing emotions of that day (We were so bad that my Welsh cousins didn't even bother to take the mickey) and exactly 40 years later at the Millennium Stadium. I don't remember the Rovers strip - I think Swansea were in white with an Orange trim(?) - somewhere I should have some black and white photos of that game if I can ever find them. Glad you had a good night out with the locals though 

And I seem to remember it was another very wet day, though not as bad as the Barrow Home match.

Yes it was cold and wet. Me and the mate were in the little stand on the prison side of the ground. The second time that I went 68/69 we were all behind the goal.
I really liked those shirts that day. They were more the colour of seaside rock more deep pink than the red we normally wore with very thin whit stripes. They looked very modern for the time.

I went to that game 68/69 won 1-0.Leon coach from Southern bus station midnight.Got there about 8 in the morning,i remember about 100 fans playing football on the beach.Spent the night in pub called the Belle Vue great night ,came back about 11pm.

Yes we went on the beach after breakfast in a brunch bar. A good night out after as you say.
