Salary cap vote set for July 29th

If this is anything to go by that is! I will check this out with the EFL themselves when I get chance.

Matt Hughes is reporting in the Daily Mail that the vote is set for the 29th July, with £2.5m and £1.5m respectively for Lg1 and 2. And a squad size of 20 as well;

So clubs will hold off with signings until then. Ridiculous.

So roughly averaging out 2.5K a week per player. Some will be on more ,some will be on less, seems about right for L2.

Is our current wage bill at or around £2.5 million mark anyway? We will likely have to reduce that considerably this season, so this cap should not really impact us directly although it might help drag down those larger clubs with huge wage bills who will have to offload some of their players, not least to meet the 20 said cap also. This looks quite a good move for us, on first glance.

  It might be a vote to introduce a cap, but current contracts at the big clubs as you describe them will still be legal until the length of time the contracts run for.
  The introduction will therefore have to be a staged introduction allowing those sides to either get promotion or get through that period when they are legally bound to honour a players contract.

I'm guessing the meeting will be mostly about agreeing some finer points with it being likely clubs will be signing from now with the assumption of those caps - apart from Bolton who will hopefully end up with another 15 point deduction for making up their own rules, again.
