18 games in all competitions this season, only 3 clean sheets. Feels pretty poor.

Not sure if that’s a serious question but in the first 18 games of 1997/98 we kept only one clean sheet. And conceded 49 goals. This season hasn’t  been good defensively but it’s nothing like some of the stinkers we’ve had before.

It was half in jest but having looked at the stats in recent and promotion seaons in League One, it is worse but not massively so than past non-promotion seasons, but way behind the two promotion seasons from this level.

19/20 - 3 clean sheets (Moore)
18/19 - 4 clean sheets (McCann)
17/18 - 5 clean sheets (Ferguson)

12/13 - 6 clean sheets (Saunders)
07/08 - 6 clean sheets (O'Driscoll)

Clean sheets are good but to be honest if we won every game 2-1 would any body give a hoot at not keeping a clean sheet.
As long as we score more than we concede in as many games as possible then that will be absolutely fine.

I was gonna say, I'm sure we were this poor at keeping a clean sheet last season for the first few months. It all turned around during that run over Christmas and New Year where Anderson particularly was just brilliant week after week.
