Diagnosed with Wernicke-Korsakhoff syndrome
This is a alcohol related  pre-senile dementia
Causes death if untreated and destroys the short term memory

In a nursing home and will ordinarily not be discharged

My Dad had this, could barely walk unaided towards the end. 

Alcohol is a cruel Master when it takes hold.

Very sad.
