RIP to the Notts Officer who today lost his life after a short fight with injuries sustained by being hit by a train whilst helping a member of public in distress.

Really sad case this, led to believe that he was chasing the mop who then ran onto the railway at Bullpit Lane level crossing. The police officer got hit by a passing express train, the mop climbed an OHLE mast and was lucky to survive after being electrocuted.

I aware that in many instances of initial trespass on the railway they usually get the British Transport Police to assist as they are PTS inducted. A shame that this never happened.

RIP SGT, railways always have been a very dangerous place, Respect to that officer, who will not have been trained to work safely in that environment, he no doubt rolled up ,saw a person who was in mental crisis and tried his best to get them to safety!
