Third time this season...
« on March 21, 2021, 03:14:19 pm by Dutch Uncle »
We have come from 2 goals down in a league game to get a result:

0-2 to 3-2 against Blackpool
0-2 and 1-3 against Hull to 3-3
0-2 to 2-2 against Gillingham

I only have goal scoring times back to 1993-94, but we haven't had three 2-goal comebacks in a league season since then.

Shows that we do have the fight and belief in us. Not that it always comes out, as seen against Oxford!

I was wondering when the last time we went 2-0 down inside 5 minutes was? Must admit I feared a heavy beating at 3:05pm yesterday!

Can't find any example back to 1993-94. Have found 9 other examples of us going 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes, with quickest being the famous 0-5 defeat at Bournemouth in 2004-05 when allegedly SOD first caught John Ryan's eye. A team containing Stock, Hayter, O'Connor and Spicer scored in the 3rd and 5th minutes. Nik Priet had a mare for us.

The most recent was in 2015-16 when we lost 0-2 at Millwall, conceding in the 5th and 8th minutes.

Three of the 9 occasions were unsurprisingly in the 1997-98 season.

Of those 9 matches we lost 8, and the other was the League Cup match at home to Hull in 2012-13 when second half goals by Rob Jones and 2 from Dave Syers (the last in the 92nd minute) turned the match on its head.

I remember that Hull game well. Quite a lot of people walked out after their second goal. Said to my mate they'll be sick as pigs if we go on to win.

It was a good comeback yesterday, such a pity when we had plenty of time to do it that we couldn't get another goal.

I remember the Bournemouth game my mate had missed the bus, to many Friday beers in Bawtry and he seemed to be texting all the first half to see if it was as bad it said on the radio

I know they weren’t league games but nice to recall off the back of the OP.
The JPT Northern final against Crewe when we won 3-2 from two down and the FACup tie that we won 7-2 from two down.

Can't disagree with that DM4

The only comparable one I have heard of was back in 1950-51 when we beat Manchester City 4-3 from 0-3 at half-time.

We came back from 0-3 to draw 3-3 at Cambridge in 2003-04 and Paul Barnes missed a late penalty which would have won the game.

I am old enough to remember 1964-65 when we were -0-4 down at Crewe and drew 4-4, although of course in 2002-03 we did lose a 4-0 lead at Telford who came back to 4-4 with 10 men for some of that time.
