Mariners challenging relegation

Interesting!

Talk about the Mariners looking for a lifeline! :coat:

Don’t think that there’s much chance of success, though.

Clutching at straws.
Neither of them would have been bothered if they had managed to get another ten points or so.

Strange isn’t it that no one bothered to mention this 2 months ago or so when the national League North/South leagues were abandoned.

Very strange

I can't think where they got this idea of changing League 2 into a SuperLeague 2 that doesn't have any relegation....

There must have been some consensus on this when it was decided to keep promotion from the National league and not have relegation from that league.

Don’t see how Grimsby and Southend have any case to see their relegation over turned. None whatsoever.

The National League isn't relegating because everyone below them didn't compete so there's no-one to promote. That doesn't apply between League 2 and the National League.

Grimsby Town lose appeal.

In my view I believe there should be 4 up from National League and 4 down from League 2. Due to their being a lot of clubs in the National League that are more than capable of being in League 1.

Definitely time for 3 up and down that is for sure.  You could make a case for 4 as 4 go up from League 2.

It should be 3 across the leagues to be honest. The 4 switching between L1 and L2 is a holdover from the regionalised days which are the ancient past now, daft it hasn't been changed.
