I watched the documentary about this last night. You may not know this but the official England song has been done by a couple of London rappers called Krept and Konan.

The stand out moment of the programme was when they took them around the country to get a feel of who their audience was. They visited Manchester and then up the Woodhead pass into the Peak District.

Krept says "man, I don't think I'm into this mountaineering" they were walking along a track up a hill.

Then at the top, looking out over the view he says "what do you do when you get here?" bemused he says "I think there are people here, who don't even like rap music! "

They decided this was the place where people like Ed Sheeran.

From what bit of the single they played, I expect it not to be popular. They've done a typical grime record. It's a difficult task trying to make black music that will crossover into the football culture... Except it isn't, there was lots of it in the 80s. All they needed to do was get The Specials to help out.

That was a bit strange Herbert.

A band with black band members, doing music inspired by Jamaican ska. There's that track Skin Moonstomp, which is an absolute belter, by a black band too.

Some of those lads must've been a bit mixed up.
