Whilst clearing out the loft my old man came across some old papers and articles. Im sure many of us were in the Park Hotel on the Thursday and at Belle Vue on the Friday when Graeme 'Bonner' Jones arrived with Wigan going for a third hat-trick in a row only to be outshone by a returning Paul Birch and goals from Colin Cramb and Adie Mike.

I remember that day as Friday was half day in the factory I worked in and a group of us took on the management at the bowling alley and we won . Everyone else went home I went for a couple of pints before the kickoff, it was the last time I was ever in The Rockingham Arms
