ITEN Match Preview & Q+A: AFC Wimbledon
« on August 04, 2021, 03:07:10 pm by RoversAlias »
Hi folks,

My first Match Preview of the new season is now up on ITEN, which you can read at the link below:

https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/match-preview-doncaster-rovers-afc-wimbledon-2122

I've changed up the format a bit for this season, bringing back the traditional team news and likely line-up (hard as that is to guess at this stage!) as well as some thoughts on the summer business at both clubs.

Included also is an interview with Rob Smith, who runs the Wombles Downunder fanzine covering Wimbledon, which he has been running for over 30 years! He provides his insights on Dons boss Mark Robinson, new signing Luke McCormick, the departure of Joe Pigott and more.

Please let me know your thoughts, along with your hopes for the game - can we get off to a winning start? Who do you think will actually be in the starting XI?

I am hoping before Saturday we can bring in a more experienced loan keeper to start. Another midfield player on loan to be a squad player. 2 permanent signings from the Trialists if Richie believes they will enhance the team. But it may only be one. I like another loan forward but will that happen in time for Saturday not sure. So the front three or four will have to work together in new roles and understanding to get goals.

I am bumping this back up for anyone who wants to read the Preview ahead of today's game.

It was written before Dahlberg and Gardner signed, but otherwise has plenty of insights to pick through!
