Bostock looks a good stone overweight to me, Cukur looks less effective than Bogle and both Gardner and Barlow don’t look league 1 players. We don’t look fit, I know the preseason was totally disjointed. Hopefully as the injured players get back and we get fitter things will come together.

Bostock is nothing like overweight he's as lean as they come, he's just not quick.  He's technically our best footballer and needs others to do the running round him, as did Wellens to be fair.

Bostock was fairly poor at times yesterday and I saw him at the end of the game hobbling a lot. He clearly wasn't fit and played regardless.  Overall he's been good this season so far but when he's not 100% he seems to struggle.  Can't question his effort though.

Its a great idea Glyn but I doubt even the Guisborough maestro can single-handedly pull us out of this one.

At least he knows where the bloody goal is!

One point to make about Bostock, is in his Free Press interview he said Covid knocked him for six and spoiled his preseason. He also said he will get fitter.

Perhaps he's still not feeling 100%?

I think we need to be realistic about our play, sometimes you have to admit when we have been outplayed and out thought, yesterday was a good example.

It was never going to be an easy game for us, if we had no injuries and all our forwards back a game like that was always going to cause us problems.

Not withstanding the setup yesterday which was an abnormal one to get us through the game i'd like to see players like Close and Smith not just sitting back and admiring their work but like others have said pushing on and making the forward runs because it does look like we don't have a tendency to run on from deeper positions to make the extra body or give a wide ball played in something to aim for.(not that we produced any good balls from wide area's) its almost as if we accepted that we could not win a ball played into the box before we started. I believe Culkar needs a a season of development before he is even considered as available to lead a line, at 17 he's still a baby and needs to drop the puppy fat, build his body and move and run more, its a pity we are in our predicament and he's having to be used far more than was originally desired.I don't think we will ever see anywhere near the best of him, we will just be developing him for Watford to loan out again next year to someone else.

When players like Hiwula and Taylor are back in the fold, who are they to produce balls into the box for? whoever is coming in(and it has to be someone coming in because we cant rely on just Fej all season)they need to be either a fox in the box type(a la Sharpe) or a Big strong hold up and lay off player (think C Brown but with more end product) any one nearby available who fits this tag?
I can see this team thriving on having the above type's available, incorporated into the team and with out "technical" midfield raising their levels by 20% we can start to look like a functioning team. everything else will develop from that.

He was a big doubt for the game too with a knock so his looking off the pace can partly be put down to that.

Big few weeks with the break we get for internationals new signings or not team need to start executing a game plan to give us a chance of winning a game.

With the current shortage of players available to RW, perhaps fans should be applauding Bostock for giving it a go rather than picking him out for a poor performance.
It’s an easy game from the comfort of a seat.

It%u2019s an easy game from the comfort of a seat.
It is hound agree. But i find him a very frustrating player. He has loads of ability but does not get hold of a game by the scruff of the neck like Whiteman did.
Yes i know it is unfair to make comparisons but we need him to make some runs forward just occasionally and not be too predictable.
He looks good at times because he plays so deep and there is no pressure on him.
That is fine but he is not always going to be able to spray 30 yard passes around. He needs to influence the game more as he has the ability do do that.

If he was not fit Saturday fair dues to him but he needs to get fit. We cannot afford players playing at 75/80%

I take it we're ignoring the part where covid ruined his preseason when questioning his fitness.

Camps, I agree that he plays too deep, too often.
I have said as much in here and to friends when discussing the games.
However, I was just suggesting that he gave it a go against Rotherham when perhaps he wouldn’t have had to if we had had a bigger squad available for Richie to select from.

Don’t forget, RW said he saw Bostock playing further forward (at the time he was wanting a big physical presence to be the defensive midfielder). Another position we havn’t managed to fill - maybe that may happen in January?
