Sometimes injuries create an opportunity

For a youth team player to make a claim for a first team spot. Already Horton is pushing for the left back spot. Kuleya has had a taste of first team action.
Could we get a rough diamond break into the side and become a regular, who is most likely for you out of the youth team?.

I’ve made comments along these lines a few times

I personally think a good coach should be able to bring some of the young lads through. If the coach can’t and says they’re not ready why are they anywhere near the match day squad

Hopefully you’re right and we find a good player

I was at the cup game on Tuesday night and our left winger (don't know his name, wore No.11) looked very good.

We could see tomorrow if any of the young lads chosen will be able to show they are ok for league one level. We already know so far this season some players loan and ours short term are finding it difficult at this level. But let’s not forget with out the injury list the young lads would not be near the match day squad.

My money would be on Hasani.

Fans of most clubs will be more patient with players from their own youth team. The manager tends to get more sympathy if he’s giving them a game. Some of the youth players will be more at ease getting their chance at our level than being loaned to Non league sides
. It must be demoralising to get loaned out to a level where their local village sides play.
Hasani and Kuleya seem to be next in for a chance behind Horton who has had his opportunity already.

I think that Lirak will start a few games this season unless we recruit 4 or 5 first team starters in Jan. His a very capable player and is willing to do what is asked of him. He was asked by RW to move the ball forward pquickly against Scunny and that is exactly what he did and helped us to get a 3-0 lead. Obviously you shouldn't be overworking young pros but I think he has the physicality to not be out of place in the first team.

For me he would be starting a few anyway, we are lacking physical players that allow others to perform.

Any idea what went wrong with his loan moves?

Wellens said he was sent back early from a couple.

Not good enough and not fit enough.
