Regarding sending some of the young lads out on loan,
Let’s hope that now they have had a few games at first team level they will be farmed out to better quality teams to gain more experience rather than shipped to weatherfield united just to get off the books for a while….

Having 1st team experience on your CV should at least get them playing in the 5th tier……

That’d be the ideal scenario but if they went to say Chesterfield, Halifax, Notts County they wouldn’t get any game time. People are always moaning about the clubs that the youngsters go to but that’s pretty much the level they’re at, it’s how the market work.

I expect the usual suspects will also disregard the answer around McSheffrey’s appointment. But to me it made sense, and I honestly think in the long term this will prove to be a very smart managerial appointment.
I really hope you’re right, time will tell. I can understand why Gm has been given the chance. Lets face it, the calibre of applicants wont have been very high despite what was claimed & its getting to the point where failing managers just seem to move from one club to another. What i cannot understand is why it took so bloody long to appoint him. That could prove to be valuable time wasted which could have been used to letting Gm identify what players he wanted/ were available.
I also understand why the club want to hold out for their first choice players but it was essential to have at least one new face in the squad ready for the fleetwood game. A decent signing to lift the spirits of the squad & fans. Was it really that difficult when other clubs seemed to have managed it?

I am Pro-McSheffrey, the bit about only deciding on the 27th December isn’t true. He had already been told he had the job and the hold up was signing his mentor up (which we couldn’t do due to the terms in his contract with the FA).

Well he did an interview after the 27th categorically denying that he had been told he had the job.

Yes obviously, but he did know. It’s not a criticism, neither party is ever going to confirm an appointment before the finer details are sorted and all signed and rightly so.

I’m just clearing up the truth of it, rather than how negatively it sounds to suggest we decided on him straight after a 3-0 defeat on sky that could’ve been more and in what we looked tactically weak in.

(I think McSheffrey will end up being at worst a decent pick).

The issue is our young players are going out on loan to sides in tier 7 and not getting much game time because there not good enough for that level. Recently they have been starting for us and we wonder why we’re not winning. Non of them are anywhere near good enough for this level sadly.

That is exactly the situation!
