on 16 September 2021 they sacked  him

Nottingham Forest have sacked boss Chris Hughton after they suffered  their sixth loss from seven Championship matches this season.

Forest fell to a 2-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough on Wednesday and are bottom of the table with one point.

Hughton, 62, took over at the start of last season when Sabri Lamouchi was sacked after the Reds lost their first four league games.

He guided Forest to safety in 2020-21 and exits with 14 wins from 52 games.

heres the table after his last match

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58483585

one point from 7 matches

ther immediate results after that were

Huddersfield Town 0 Nottingham Forest 2

Nottingham Forest 1 Millwall 1

Barnsley 1 Nottingham Forest 3

Birmingham City 0 Nottingham Forest 3

Nottingham Forest 2 Blackpool 1

Bristol City 1 Nottingham Forest 2

and hurray finally a defeat Nottingham Forest 0 Fulham 4

etc etc

so what were the Forest Fans saying on September 16th ?

the players are useless we need a clear out ?

The Manager is useless get him out ?

Had The players downed tools ?

The phrase "tool kit" is a buzz word nowadays

But how many other times have Forest sacked their manager and it didn’t have that positive effect?

exactly and their glorious short lived history was all down to a fluke. The year they went to the top table the "brains of the football league" hadn't thought of making everybody in each league play their last league game on the same day and at the same time.

Scilly wasn't it . Funnily enough that's where Brian  Clough was --- on the Scilly Isles (of Harold Wilson fame) when he heard they were promoted

  "Motorway Service Station Bung")

i was just comparing their position then with Rovers as both teams went their seperate ways
