Very much the same as other reporters
https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster-rovers-journalist-peter-catts-thoughts-on-relegation-richie-wellens-gary-mcsheffrey-and-james-coppinger-3690772

I know it’s depressing but we have got to get it right with recruitment as Peter says strong physically and mentally are the players we need if we are to get back to league 1.

All this plain to see long before even McCann left . Planning for the future is just not something the owners think is that important, paying a tax bill is I suppose …but only when you get threatened with enforcement.

What is the season tickets sales so far , that’s usually a good indication of OUR future !!

When you get threatened with enforcement THAT is what the future of the club has to be planned around!

When you are a well run club financially you don’t get issued with an enforcement notice??

I found the article a complete damp squib, no detail, no insight and nothing we haven't witnessed and understood ourselves.

Its just click bait.

Trite? It’s anything but that. It’s his view, man, like many others on here. The fact that it’s often repeated is because it’s actually happened.

The guy’s opinion is well respected among many I would think, he has had the type of insider knowledge many could only dream of over the years.
He hasn’t added much we didn’t know but then who could?. It’s worrying if we are a well run club and tax bills are being mentioned.

There is no doubt the planning for a while has been awry. Saying we are aiming for the championship if they came out and said that would mean nothing, words are cheap.
I’m happy for this season to be a new start and lesson’s learned from before.
It would be nice to see things done quickly and efficiently in the transfer market. Get what the manager wants and see where we go from there.

Yes. Trite Alan.

"(of a remark or idea) lacking originality or freshness; dull on account of overuse."

How much of that article can you see that is not trite?

It’s original because it’s his view and, by the way, a guy who has followed DRFC for many, many seasons (much like you and me). Give him some respect.

The tax issue was done to death, put to bed yet it seems since-1969 wants to keep being mischievous about it and stirring the pot.

I'd agree SM but for the fact that PC has been following our club since the mid-60s.

I think most of us agree that this past season has been one of the most wretched that any of our time-served supporters have witnessed. The sort that would genuinely turn you off making the effort to trek 50 miles to watch your club in hail, rain or shine. Not only do gate receipts fall but the prospects for building the fan base diminish. The Board really do need to get that last season was a massive failure.
