Bostock????????
« on July 17, 2022, 08:29:57 pm by Tiddysdad »
Has anyone seen anything on his Instagram or twitter about a new club that I may have missed? It just seems to be family holiday photos. I would have thought he'd want to be sorted out by now. Or does he think he’s good enough to play without a pre-season?
Would you want him back if he doesn’t get another club?

He won’t be back here. Wish him well wherever he goes though, I would’ve expected him to be training with a club really. Bit strange at this stage if he’s not. I’d expect him to have plenty of suitors at league one level minimum.

I wouldn’t want him back.
Would not swap him for any of our current midfielders.

Yes he could pass a ball, yes he had ability but was far too static for me.
I want to see legs in midfield. Players that are going to work their socks off.
It is important we get a fair no of goals from our midfielders. He didn’t score goals and never looked remotely likely to score any.

Not for me. Slowed the game down too much, not my type of player.
Just my opinion.

Sure he will get fixed up somewhere but he won’t be coming back to us.

Ability but no life in his legs.

The guy could pass a ball, but is not the sort of player we need in league 2 or 1 ,he has no legs so slows down the play to suit his style to make himself look good

Can see him going abroad. I'd definitely have him back though come on he's levels above League 2.

My concern is though surely he should have got a club by now. Or is his mind not on the game 100% and is that why he's not really fulfilled the potential he showed as a youngster?
Lovely bloke but not focused possibly.

You couldn’t play him in a high pressing game, unless you have him as a floater, picking the bits up, as they will if they sign Tomlin.
He would suit a lower league Spanish team. Tap, tap, tap and no running.

He will get snapped up, if he had players with a footballing IQ like his alongside him he would have been able to play the passes he wanted to a lot quicker. Wouldnt be surprised to see him go abroad again.

Probably about right. Some of those games where the ball was slowed in midfield going side to side. It was so dull. Talented player but it never really clicked in our team.

Don't see why we should be concerned about a bloke who made a choice.

Maybe some curiosity about where he ends up but maybe he's enjoying family life and is in no rush to put his boots back on.

We've all experienced this at our own level, a very talented player who comes into your side he knows he's a cut above the rest and doesn't give the physical requirement or effort. Players like Bostock are fine in the right team.

You could say that it was Rovers and Moore specifically who saw something in him which had not attracted any other English clubs. Perhaps those contributing to this thread are predominantly people who were not convinced of his value as a team player, because he did seem to have a lot of admirers of his pure footballing elegance.

Possibly though, people increasingly recognise that for the lower leagues pace and endeavour are more useful qualities than putting in the occasional defence-splitting pass.

If you wear a ‘stand out’ hairstyle like Bostock you’ve chosen to do so. It’s a “look at me” so you’d better be the best player on the pitch every time you played, he wasn’t.

In fact I’m struggling to remember one game where I would have given him MOTM.

That would be an unbelievable move for him, to say the least. If that happened or anything like that happened, his agent needs some kind of award.

Dodoo could be a better player at Lincoln than he was with us. He wasn’t use correctly at Rovers and the confidence was about zero level from everybody by the time we got to do the end of Nov at the time Wellens departed.
He isn’t a target man and that showed last season. GM used him there because no one else seemed capable of playing there. Curkur and Mipo were both useless.

I actually think there is a player there but he needs to be playing in a wider role in team playing with belief.
He never got that opportunity at Rovers.
