The back 4

They were all brilliant today. Especially Knoyle and Williams (hope Campsall agrees!) The structure was so much better as well.

This is good to build on for the remaining 45 games.

Had Rowe been fit and played over Tomlin that would have been a win.

I'll have to hold my hand up, because I've criticised them more than anyone. They were very good today, and it's good to see Tom back.

Knoyle today was the player I hoped we'd get when he signed. He had by some distance his best game in a rovers shirt.

The defenders aren’t bad players individually they just need organising as a team. That’s what defending is about more that ability.

Last season was more about lack of coaching imo than just bad players. Only one game but hopefully we’ve corrected this

Have to agree that I thought they were all solid and worked there socks off.

I just have a feeling that Anderson and one of olowu/long are our strongest back 2. Harsh after yesterdays performance.

Credit to them all yesterday though. They had a good hard working midfield that helped them also.

I have said before yesterdays match how much I thought Williams had improved. He had a few dodgy moments v Huddersfield in the air but was excellent on the deck and thought his overall game v Rotherham was very good. He is now taking responsibility as the leader at the back without Anderson.
Yes thought he had a very solid game yesterday. Unrecognisable from last season.

Knoyle is looking fitter and stronger and am sure he will be the player we all hoped he would be this season.
He was excellent as was Olowu and Maxwell looks looks as though he will also be the left back we so badly needed.

You’ve hit the nail on the head, last season the defence had no help whatsoever in front of them, yesterday every player on the pitch put a shift in

Where was Younger yesterday? Has he fallen into the dreaded Black Hole of Cantley?

Clayton is important in the anchor role also but he desperately needs some cover.

Yesterday was a big test to pass as Oliver is the best aerial striker in the division.

That being said, Bradford were completely devoid of any attacking plan.

They all gave it everything so its harsh to single anyone of them out for special praise but Maxwell looks a player.

If we have more than 18 players fit they can’t all be in the squad.??  There might not be an issue with him at all.

You’d think Younger would be on the bench if fit given he can cover right back too. Unless he’s fallen that far down the pecking order.

Agree on comments about the pairing eventually been between Long, Olowu and Anderson. Williams did well yesterday but I can’t trust him

If Younger as played right back in most preseason plus centre half against Huddersfield then you would have thought if he was fit he would have been in the 18 and Faulkner would have been the one left out. So he is either injured or ill I would say.

IDM, there is no way Degruchy or Faulkner should be above him in the pecking order!

Degruchy is a separate scenario,
We already had 3 centre halves on the bench when Rowe got pulled so we needed something else than a defender on bench

Your opinion perhaps, but why do we assume a player must be injured if he’s not picked.?

Look at our injury record. I assume all our players are injured or about to become injured at any moment.
