To be expected like Chris says. Back to normal Monday though or they really will be taking the piss.

How will this work for people who have booked rail tickets already?

You will lose your money, unless you fancy a day trip anyway.

Well said Steve.
We all have different views.  I’m disappointed but a football match is a minor detail if more people followed her example the world would be a better place.

I think it's a debate to have like adults, not to presume your opinion is the correct one. I would have preferred nothing to be called off. If the crowds wanted to pay tribute they could - spontaneously, organised - however, they see fit. Why should MPs be allowed to stand in parliament for hours giving personal tributes and the public aren't afforded the same right?

I think The FA have rushed into making the wrong decision. Rugby, cricket and F1 will all be going ahead over the weekend. There is no reason the football couldn't have gone ahead.

Whether you agree or not the sporting organisation should have made the decisions the same. We’ve got cricket going ahead on Saturday St Leger going ahead on Sunday Rugby Union games are going to be played on Saturday yet Football EPL EFL and WSL have cancelled all games even on Monday. Yes it’s a mark of respect. But you can see why this has caused heated debate.

Feel like it may well be the wrong decision. The only difference is policing given the size of the events, but they've not said that as a reason.

Disappointing as it means a Tuesday night game which for many of us is rubbish.  I was stopping off on the way to the great North run on Sunday which is going ahead.

To be fair F1 is in Italy this weekend, not the UK

I feel this is a throwback decision made for a different period in time. These plans will have been in place for years.

They should of reviewed it and like others have said allowed people to recognise the occasion as they see fit.

Mine would of been to go to the football on Saturday, just like sports fans of other sports who will be allowed that opportunity.

Another fail.

Unfortunately I think the EPL and EFL have jumped the gun and will probably be kicking themselves (no pun intended) now they have seen what the other sporting bodies have done.

Whilst I can understand the irritation amongst those whose interest is strong enough to contribute to a forum like this, is it not possible that the majority of those who might have attended the match may not agree with you all?

But equally everyone has a choice. Nobody would be forced to attend.

All the football federations have made the same decision All English, Welsh and Northern Irish football and professional Scottish football has been postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

I attended a Rovers game the day after my dad died in 2011.

A far more personal passing to me than the Queen.

I feel that the decision made to cancel all games this weekend was hasty and ill-judged.

People should be allowed to pay their respects in a way they feel fit without having it forced on them.

Feels like a bit of a Tommy Topper all this. Who can write the best RIP, who can write the best obituary, who can cancel the biggest event out of respect

I cant speak for the queen personally but i fee she would have wanted her life celebrating. Weve spent 2 years cancelling events

Im sure the Leger could have been the Queen Elizabeth II Leger. 95% would have been silent if not all. 100% would cheer that little more in celebration of an amazing ladies life

My daughters footballs been cancelled
They tried arranging an in house game but the school wouldnt let them incase it gives them bad publicity

Ironically ill be on a coach going to Oldham supporting Bentley ARLFC getting blathered lol none of it makes sense

Im al for King and Queen RIP

That about sums it up Afro. I don't mind respect being demonstrated. If the Queen doesn't deserve it, who does? But the stench of  being scared of publicity is spreading far and wide.  I got an email this afternoon from my university. It was 45 years ago I was there! What do they think they are achieving?
