Heading Scunny’s way
« on October 15, 2022, 04:01:50 pm by Donnyjim »
Our downward spiral continues I’m afraid. I feared it would. Yes, McSheffrey is a shite manager but were all the others, as well? We can go blaming the manager but ultimately there is more to it than that. The club is on a trajectory of decline and only going one way. On and off the pitch.

About 18 months ago I said that we needed to change our aspirations as fans to league 2 / 1 yo-yo team (Cheltenham say) since that time we now become a league 2 mid table side (Rochdale). Next season on the current path? Who knows? Sadly it’s in the title for me if things don’t change.

It’s a bit early to say we’re now a mid table League Two side, we’re not even a third of the way into the season.

Darren Moore had us near the top of L1 before his head got turned. We were very good under McCann too so it’s only Wellens and GM who have been under achieving.

Employing them consecutively make it look really bad but reality is Wellens just didn’t work out and GM is an awful appointment. Deal with GM and we should be going the right way

This hasn't worked out and is clearly now coming to an end.

Can the Board and Copps please do this properly this time. And also not take two months to do the process and end up giving it to Steve Eyre. We don't need to only consider out of work managers. We don't need to only consider former players or current employees. And please god no don't give it to Copps.

Eyre should go, too. The new man needs to bring in who he needs/trusts.

If Bramall can do one thing, it’s to ask Blunt for his resignation.

He’s a lame duck now almost as bad as Truss. Most want him gone. Not sure the players can be too bothered about playing for him the way he’s goes on

Watching the second half it looked as though as a team we’d given up before the 3rd went in he has to go

Nobody has said they want us to go the way of Scunthorpe but if things don't change who knows.

Where in my comments did I say I wanted it to happen? It's the graph of decline that's worrying.

There are a few who say 'these people, or 'some folk', must be imagining them, I've certainly not heard them.

When we dropped into Conference with those terrible games , results and Gates (under 1000 ?) I never once heard anyone saying they were glad we were going down

No genuine supporter at Rovers or Scunny or Chesterfield would ever wish doom on their own Club

They just would never know what might happen after that

People just want to get on their high horse about backing the manager longer than others. Tell themselves everyone who was very doubtful months ago must just be looking for the club to fail.

It’s not they case. When people complain it’s out of hopes for change to get better.

Let him clarify what he has said in Reply 2 above.

I agree with him in that " I don't think we will do a Scunny " either

Don't know if you think we will

On the second half of his comment " as much as some folk would like us too" ... he might mean fans of other Clubs. I admit to being 71 yo and should know better and I wanted Scunny to go down and in fact want them to go down this Season as well

So it is quite reasonable almost certain there are Scunny fans desperate to see us drop too

It's one hell of a drop to the bottom two of league two even from the underperforming season you are currently witnessing today .

I suppose it's only natural to have that in your thoughts having witnessed it happen before .

However I was around in the late 90's and saw your demise and despite your recent slump it's nothing like those days .

The club would have to completely lose the plot which I don't think they are so bad as to do that , there's mistakes that have been made but that's totally different to losing the plot .

I'd be mindful of new ownership losing the plot more than the present incumbents , ask Oldham Athletic fans how that's worked out .

I’ve said this a couple of times now on different threads.  Let’s not see everything through rose tinted glasses.  The current failure is a tea, effort and that includes the likes of Copps and his psychology about improving player mentality.
I’ve not seen any games but reading what goes on here.   That’s also failed miserably
