Putting Ferguson - who was not a good manager for us - to one side, they’ve no materially greater financial resources than us but are consistently more competitive and have a very strong track record of monetising talent for big return. We are currently outside the play offs in the lowest professional level of the game.

I can't readily recall any manager taking the same job four times, even allowing for caretakers.
Properly weird situation for them. Seems to work somehow though. They’ll be trying to get in the championship while we’re a long way off L1. Not sure we can criticise too much really. He must be good a sacking people for them to so often be happy to come back. I know he left things a bit poorly but can’t help feel Fergie would have been a good appointment instead of McSheffery. Not a massive fan of his but he did ok for us and certainly wouldn’t have been the needless risk GM was which really set the club back again
