Still love the FA Cup, especially the early rounds, today has the potential to be a cracking game. For me we play our best available 11, & hopefully start on the front foot, if not they will turn us over. We have seen some garbage over the last few seasons but last season against Kings Lynn was up there. Totally abject performance for a cup tie, never felt as angry of a 'performance' as that day. Really looking forward to today with a great manager, better players, & hopefully a better performance than last season.

I dearly hope we can get to at least round three.
The third round draw is one of the highlights of a football season and especially so for clubs who come through the first two rounds.
Compulsive viewing for fans of those clubs.
Obviously the financial benefits are also there and the right draw in round three can be very rewarding.

This game should be treated very seriously. A big pay day in the 3rd round would surely boost the coffers of GM’s budget not only this January window but most importantly next summer.
Accrington Stanley, ‘Who are they’  I hope I am saying that at 5.00pm tomorrow.
We are due a good cup run, the last one was 2016

COME ON THE ROVERS. Let’s be in that 2nd round draw.
Even more we are due a top 6 Premier League Club in the FA CUP
Last one was Everton in Jan 1985 !!!   :that:

You're 3 years out, Camps. The last good cup run was 2019, under GM.
2 year after that (lockdown season) we got to round 4, beat Blackburn away and lost to West Ham.

We played West Ham away in 2021 but not in top 6
Forgot about that one.

Close and Ironside not in squad today. Wood and Maxwell back on bench. Faal starting up top on his own.

Josh Andrews starts for them. Olowu and Anderson at back for us, so Andrews likely to score.

From what McCann has been saying, both Ironside and Close have been struggling so good that they get a rest and better to not be on the bench to avoid any temptations

He said we are due a top 6 PL team, not a cup run and I don’t think Palace were top six when we played them.
And yes, I do,know that technically the PL hadn’t been formed in 1985.

Just semantics, Hound. "We are due a good cup run, the last one was 2016". He then mentioned a top 6 PL team later in the post.

However, he's cleared it up by explaining that he'd got mixed up with the 2016 Stoke match. Easy mistake to make. We all make them, even you and me. LOL.
