He’s back where he was before we let him go (top half of league one) and he’s struggling for regular starts and goals. Only 3 goals this season so far.

It’s not looking like an absolute clanger in letting him go anymore. Fejiri was our main striker the year afterwards and got double figures.

Would be interested to hear what Tyke thinks to him.

Very disappointed with Watters to be honest , on loan last season there were signs of a player in there .

Came off the bench and got us back in front against Wednesday at home after letting a two goal lead slip .

Came off the bench at MK Dons when we were 4-1 down with 20 minutes to go , turned the game when he came on , scored a couple and we rescued a point in a 4-4 draw .

This season as a permanent signing , we've seen nowt , nothing at all and I'm struggling to find a positive to be honest .

Tell a lie , at least we didn't pay a million quid for him like Cardiff City did .

Well, he could hardly say he was league One when he left us having only made fleeting appearances. We would have liked to have seen more than just the goals he scored at Cantley Park etc  but it wasn't to be.

Fair play to him though, just like Alfie, was prepared to roll his sleeves up and perform when given more regular starts.

There's more than a hint that the goals he scored for Crawley was a bit of a purple patch and lacking in longevity .

Of course I want Watters to succeed here but I can only post on what I've seen .

There's plenty of wriggle room with forwards , many only hit you 10 goals or less in a season but have other attributes , hold up play , nuisance value , good presser , creates goals etc etc .

I'm really struggling with Max I have to say .

Quote from Tyke:

Having watched him a number of times for our U23’s (when we had one), I always said the same thing about him, back then. Always showed lots of promise and potential, but he never really made the next step. Had one outstanding game, when DM played 3 lads on trial in a cup game, making it look easy, but with lesser players, he struggled to stand out.

DM took a lot of stick after he went to Cardiff, for that price, but what has he done since? Same old, same old!
