Caraboa Cup

So pleased to see Chelsea’s get beat in another Cup Final
I hate Chelsea with a passion
Goes back to late 60’s early 70’s
Need I say any more.

I am no Liverpool fan but really pleased for Klopp
He is guaranteed at least 1 trophy in his last season.
Been a great Manager and personality without any doubt whether you like Liverpool or not.

I'm not bothered one way or the other about Chelsea, but I'm grateful to them for taking 4 points off Man City this season.

Good to see that their sponsorship of this competition has raised their brand awareness level.
They must use the same marketing  company as Richard Woods and the St. Ledger.

"Horrible" to those that don't like them. There'll be some that think we're a horrible club, and I don't give a f*ck about them, just as Chelsea and Liverpool fans don't give a f*ck about people who don't like their club.

All relative though, isn’t it. Liverpool and their fans are pretty widely disliked, as are Chelsea. Most fans are probably just indifferent towards Rovers (and a sadly disproportionate amount have probably barely heard of us at all).

Sorry Nick, that's just a subjective opinion based on your own personal experience.

Most people I know love Liverpool FC. It's all subjective, as it is with all football clubs.

A lot of football fans don’t like Liverpool or Chelsea or their fans. Successful clubs are always going to be envied and that envy often turns into something more unpleasant, and the fans don’t help themselves with their “scouse not English”, booing the national anthem etc. Comparing that to people disliking Rovers is comparing apples to oranges. They definitely have a huge and passionate fanbase, though, so I imagine that a lot of people you know do love them, especially given they’re your second club (correct me if I’m wrong).

If you want objectivity, though, here’s a survey of 1,000 fans for you.

The first time I saw a televised football was the 1985 fa cup final between Everton and man utd. I didn't know much about football then but looked to me like a shit match with two dirty shit teams. I've hated them both since.

The second match I remember watching was the 1986 fa cup final between Liverpool and Everton.
Because of my previous encounter with Everton, I didn't really want them to win but what I saw Liverpool do with a football had me hooked and I've followed them since.
Obviously they come second to my beloved Rovers. Even watching the shite back in the late 80s with about 1500 fans in BV, Liverpool didn't come close to how I felt stood on The Popside

Arsenal for me - I was on cub camp when Michael Thomas won them the league and they've been my second team since. Bergkamp, then Henry, were absolute magicians. Man U and Leeds the teams I dislike!

As Nudga says, they'll never come close to the Rovers though.

Don’t have a big club ‘second’ team at all, though I do like to see the England lads do well and am pleased when they do, Pickford, Kane, Saka etc and I really like Rice, think he’s a great lad. So I generally like to see the team with the most English or British players win whenever I tune into a premier league game.
For some bizarre reason I have a soft spot for Torquay and always look for their result. Think because I never went to our away games when I was young and thought because of the distance it was some kind of exotic place or club.
When I did eventually go it felt quite homely. Weird eh.

I have difficulty in understanding why people on here have to use the F to express themselves. A great example to our young fans.

They're in dire straits at the moment. Not pleasant at all.

It probably goes back to my acting days, when I played the drunken dad in the DLT production of "Rita, Sue, and Bob too". The "F" word was probably more prevalent than any other word in the script.

I've never been the same since.
