We might be down and disheartened right now but the feel around is we've got our club back, the fans feel together and connected to the club once more.

So let's dust ourselves down decide which players want to stay, replace any that don't with better players then go again. Like McCann says the aim is to win the league and that should be what we demand of the players now. Hopefully Bramall backs GM now so we can return to League One.

Since February we were by some distance the best team in the league let's forget last night and take that league form into August and onwards.

I’m afraid that just makes the defeat to Crewe, a side in poor form, harder to take.

I totally agree with this opening post and admire how this forum is reacting to yesterdays disappointment .We are an important part of the change that is evident in the spirit and resolve at this club .

Let's follow Stockport's example. We lost a one off game, which in my opinion we were desperately unlucky to do despite not being at our best. Let's use it as fuel for next season. We've proven we can compete with the best teams in this league, and it was a much stronger league this year than it will be next season.

The teams coming down don't look especially strong. Chesterfield have a bit of money but nowhere near the Wrexham/Notts County level. Set 100 points as the target and let's smash this league and be on the beach in early April.

I'm confident TB has already provided GM with sufficient backing to have a genuine tilt at the title next season.

How that works out with incoming or outgoing players, I don't know but the quality is likely to be matched or bettered.

Over to you Grant after a well earned rest.

Despite the disappointment from last night I have to say what a fantastic end to the season. Mcann and Everyone involved deserves praise for all the work that has gone on behind the scenes. We were very unfortunate to just miss out on promotion imo. I sincerely hope Grant stays with our club next season and gets the job done !

I don't necessarily think we need crazy amounts more investment, we've likely got Rowe and Taylor leaving who probably take up a decent amount of wages. Rowe's legs have gone, so we can likely get someone in for less who can now offer us more, then we can bring in a replacement for Adelakun (unless he stays), using the wages saved from Taylor. There's also Lavery's wages we'll be saving.

If we can agree that we had the budget - including January loans etc - to be as competitive as we were in those 18 games, then surely we will be competitive next season?

It’s probably more about how the budget is spent, try an how much it is.

Get enough players of sufficient quality and have a team that gels quickly and plays with confidence, and we could do very well.

Easier said than done of course!

Hands up who had  heard of the three loans that came in , or had them down as world heaters if they had?  If they don't stay for whatever reason Grant will find  replacement, we've seen in Kane wilks etc before that he can and will again

Of the three I had heard of Haks, and also remember him running us ragged at Glandford Park when he was at Scunny
