I got a shock watching a video back at how far I let myself go,it shocked me in to action about 18 months ago.
I am now down from 130kg to 80 (8st ish), 39% body fat to sub 20%. I am coming to 55 in August and back serious cycling again. I am currently training for a 120km gravel race next March in Pampanga north of Manila in the masters class. Never felt better physically or mentally since my teens/ early twenties when I was last riding seriously. Its never too late to change.

80kg is 12 and a half stones matey, not 8 stone ish but well done anyway, a great effort.
Correct, I was referring to how much I lost.

I have done and it could still be taken either way.
Thanks for the advice though.

I see.
Easy to misinterpret your intended meaning.
Sorry about that.

A very 'clever' comedian.

He knew how to 'work' his audience.

Smart, slick, very underrated performer in my opinion.

A great comic. Could be absolutely filthy too depending on his audience!

Relatable thread this, gents. I'm 51 now, although generally in good health I don't have the same energy I used to have, physically or mentally, & as you's have said, I'm very much aware of my mortality.
Still work away most of the time, which doesn't help, have a few every night to fill the time buy try to keep it as few as possible. I try to go to the gym whenever I can as this helps with my mental well being, having a physical job this doesn't happen enough though. I find gym group about the best for a day pass wherever I am, even if I spend half hour in there it makes me feel better about myself, there's usually some eye candy in there (more than in the pubs these days), that helps lol.
The best medicine though, flirting with a barmaid in her early 20's the other week,  she told me she's off to Sorrento soon, me "I went there, it was thirty odd years ago though" her "what were you, about 2 weeks old?" she's probably no idea how much that brightened my day/month/life. & yes, she was being serious

Ha Ha!! You do have to take the small wins Spud!! In all seriousness though, I do agree that regular exercise does work wonders with wellbeing, particularly as I get older. If I'm frank about it, I do enjoy seeing fella's who are 10-20 years my junior but look 10 years older than me. Makes me feel good about myself.
