The most bizarre story is coming out of this constituency, and it's not based around Farage.

Last week's polliing % was:
Farage 42
Cons 27
Lab 24

The latest news appears to be that the Labour candidate, Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, has been instructed by the party to leave Clacton, never come back, and go to the West Midlands. Jovan is 27, black, and has said he is passionate to fight Farage on behalf of every black and brown person, and working class people in the country. Partly he has been noticed as he is fighting against Farage, but he has also received a lot of attention for his stylish dressing. Possibly most importantly he has been getting more attention than Starmer on social media, and a lot of coverage in published media. It would seem that hasn't gone down well -- "distracting from Starmer's campaign".

His CLP say they have been banned from printing leaflets, blocked from using campaigning software, and been kicked out of the campaign's social media accounts.

You'd almost think Starmer wasn't able to up his game on appearing interesting. Bonkers, but moreso, if this is as it appears, it's extremely worrying.

The answers are in the polling numbers you have quoted, no?

''Electoral Calculus categorises the seat as being part of the “Strong Right” demographic, those who have fiscally conservative views on the economy but are also fairly nationalist and socially conservative, alongside strong support for Brexit. Clacton is also, in general, highly deprived, in terms of employment, income and education, when measured comparatively with the rest of the UK, with 64% of the constituency being impoverished, according to the site.[6] In addition to this, the latest government labour data has also revealed that economic inactivity in Clacton is at 46.8% - more than twice the 21.7% UK average.[7]''

Sid my good friend I presume you haven't seen my previous post on the Gambling thread

"...............................................  on the subject of Farage
https://morningstaronline.co.uk/article/clacton-activists-fear-labour-is-throwing-the-constituency-to-farage

"LABOUR activists in Clacton fear that the party is throwing the election in their constituency in order to facilitate the return of Nigel Farage to Parliament.

They claim that their imposed candidate, Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, has been told to campaign elsewhere in the country rather than in the town he seeks to represent.

One Clacton Labour campaigner, speaking anonymously for fear of party reprisals, told the Star: “Labour want Farage to win here because he could split the Tories.

“A resurgent Reform party could create turmoil for the Tories in the Commons.”

The Tory-held seat could be winnable for Labour as Mr Farage’s hard-right Reform party looks to split the right-wing vote in the Essex seaside town down the middle.

But Labour is allegedly playing a cynical game. Mr Owusu-Nepaul, a party employee imposed on the local party as their candidate without a vote, has been instructed to first of all campaign in nearby Colchester rather than Clacton.

Now he has allegedly been told to go and work in the Black Country, nearly 200 miles away.

Local Labour sources said they had hoped that Mr Farage imposing himself as Reform’s Clacton candidate would lead to a powerful local mobilisation to prevent his election.

Instead they believe Labour campaign bosses would rather anticipate the disruption he could cause in Parliament, sitting alongside Tory MPs, many of whom agree with him on most issues.

Certainly the Conservatives look like entering a bitter internal struggle in opposition after July 4, with many wanting to move sharply to the right and unite with Reform.

A Reform campaign volunteer in the town told the Star that the party was on course for victory, although when pressed merely claimed that canvas returns were “OK.”

Mr Farage himself is only appearing in Clacton from time to time, instead travelling around the country trailed by a mass media always ready to promote his views.

Tory incumbent Giles Watling is trying to exploit the Reform owner’s call for a ceasefire in Ukraine to claw back votes, but the local electorate seems entirely indifferent to the conflict in eastern Europe.

Labour held Clacton from 1997 to 2005, so a win would not be out of the question if the party wished to achieve it."

"The big issue"   is whether the Labour Party is commiting an offence by deliberately losing an election

I wonder how many Labour Party Members have backed Farage --- this obviously calls for an input from THE GAMBLING COMMISSION "

Footage this morning of Reform canvassers in Clacton voicing the most disgusting racist, homophobic crap you’ve ever heard.
The thing is I’m not at all surprised by it.
These are the views a lot of their supporters have.
Not very closet Nazis.
So Reform voters on here, I hope you realise what you’re voting for.

What do you think any other party would do when a candidate said they wanted to slaughter immigrants on the beach?

Do you think they'd continue to accept them as a candidate for their party, like RefUK have done?

The other parties you mention have a range of policies.
The flyer that Reform produced called this ‘The Immigration Election’
That’s their number one issue, apart from a couple of cobbled together, uncosted, pie in the sky other bits to make them look like a serious party.
The vile drivel spouted by their workers yesterday shows them for what they are.
Neo Nazis. No more, no less.

Roll on next Thursday.

A) because Politics will be embargoed on Media such as TV Radio etc apart from saying " today is Election Day polls open in 6 hours , 5 hours etc etc

Polls have been opened
Polls plus 1 hour 2 hours etc

Polls closing in 4 , 3, 2, 1 hours , then they'll swap to counting down the minutes

B) Finally Bong Exit Poll says the likely outcome is : whatever the Exit Poll says

Rarely wrong.

Thank f**K for the end of that process however it ends

Personally I'd like to see Labour and Lib Dems in Coalition and PR demanded by LD in return for their support , then Referendum on that which eventually leaves just Belarus with FPTP *

See link . It's a strange definition

That Jovan owusu isn't a serious politician. He dresses the way he does to garner attention, and we're only talking about him because he's in Nigels constituency.

He's also racist, and claims he likes to drink white man's tears.

I said exactly this to Mrs Mug in the pub last night.
Have all the news articles, interviews, televised 'debates' etc, over the last 6 weeks of b*llocks, changed anyone's voting intentions???

Not sure how one would talk to the Clacton electorate, they voted for brexit to solve the problems of a town in decline, which didn't help of course, now they turn to farage yet again to save them, good luck with that.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ...........
