Parking around the ground - ideas?
« on February 26, 2010, 11:07:48 am by jonrover »
A palace fan had asked me where to park, but since there's only 2 of them, the Keepmoat is not an option.

What is the best option now? Cheers

Use the VSC carpark at Beresfords offices by the lake. £3 I think all proceeds go to the youth team.

We park at Belle Vue, easy to get out straight on to Bawtry Road, a nice little walk (About 10-15mins) and a chance for me to moan about how I miss the good old days.

Wasn't there a spell where cars were being broken into down there? ... Sandy Lane?

I've parked there since the stadium opened and had no problems. No where you park is going to be 100% safe.

The VSC car park has an attendant and CCTV and is about as secure as you'll get.

Thanks for the support River Don. Cant believe all the tips for alternative car parks that dont support the VSC - and thereby the Rovers youth team!
C'mon folks - help us help the Rovers. Our car park is manned, has CCTV and is just as convenient as any other car park......
OK?

I've been broken into twice at manned car parks with CCTV! Never had a problem on Sandy Lane though, and I don't know anyone who has.

No, you're right, what am I thinking? Of course it's safer to park on a quiet, dark lane with a history of break-ins rather than a lit, manned car park. Silly me. :S

You say it has a history of break ins. I know of non. Its a well lit steet in a residential area and I, or no one else I know who parks there has had any trouble. It also saves having to drive in the bottle neck round Lakeside after a game.

Well I for one have walked down there after a match and seen a couple of cars with their windows put out, it has definitely happened. On the other hand the VSC car park has never had any break-ins.

So, because i dont use that car park i dont support the youth team? Is this another \"You're not a memeber of the VSC/125 club/programme seller etc. you cant support Rovers as much as i do\" type posts. I park where it's cheap, and convient for me.

For f*&k sake nobody is forcing you, we just want to make people aware that the VSC car park exists. You can pay £3 there knowing your money is going to the youth team or you can pay £3 at the Asia place, or £5 and walk further and you know it won't. Or you can risk it on Sandy Lane it'll probably be okay.  It's up to you my friend.

I pay into nothing extra, apart from my season ticket. Its my choice and its how I like it. Doesnt make me any less of a supporter.

Totaly agree. But the point of my post was, that a lot of people on here try and make you feel less of a supporter if you don't support every last thing that gives money to the club.

Wow .... it's certainly not worth falling out about.

I have seen cars with windows broken on Sandy Lane, but it was night games, and it was over a year ago.

I encourage parking at Beresfords as a VSC Member :)

King of Asia has opportunities.

The Thread was: Parking around the ground - ideas? - three ideas :)

Can anyone post a map of where the VSC car park is.  People on here are talking about it not being supported enough, but this is the first I've ever heard of it.

It's here, just off Lakeside Boulevard:
