Mods,

The election fever seems to have rightly gripped this forum. Can we have a Voting table like the MoM. It would be a very effective straw poll that would sample a wide ranging audience on here and would be not far off a traditional poll for giving voting trends and possible swings/outcomes.

Something like:

Conservative
Labour
Lib Dems
Other
Don't know/Undecided
Don't Care.

If not we could just vote on here. Here's mine:

LABOUR

They're all a bunch of greedy f**kwits who are only interested in themselves. Labour?????????????????? You sure? They've ruined this country good and proper and you still want them in. Free country & free vote I suppose.

I know one thing, if they get in again I'm upping sticks and off out of this once proud and great country.

How many people have said they would leave if labour get elected? I remember Paul Daniels and Michael Caine saying it yet their still here. If you really want to leave , then leave , but usually it just a lot of hot air, if labour win you'll not leave because it is not better elsewhere, if it was you would already be there.

You're against immigrants but you're going to go and live in somebody else's country. Give me a minute and I'll figure out the logical inconsistency here...

Where did he say anything about immigrants?

win-win for me!

If I can get work abroad again I will leave.  I spent last summer abroad and would love to leave this country.  This country simply doesn't provide opportunities for young people.

I wasborn and raised in Balby from a working class, council house occupant family.
My Mum barely had enough cash to feed myself and two sisters right up to the age of 17.
I canvassed for the Labour Party when I was 13 years old.
I was a member of the Communist Party in the mid 70's.
I worked for British Coal for 18 years and was made redundant at 35.
I've voted for the Tory's since 1986 and will fervently continue to do so.

Figure that one out if you can .... :)  :)

Legalised Amsterdam style coffee shops and legislation to legalise standing at footy matches.

A no brainer.

My X goes to the Liberals.  B)

You really need to do some research. Unemployment in general, and youth unemployment in particular has been fir the best part of a decade or more  lower in the UK than in any other major developed country. USA, Germany, France, Italy,  Spain, they've all had higher (some them spectacularly higher) unemployment than us fir a good while.

We are amazingly good in this country at convincing ourselves that Britain is a basket case, when the reality is that by pretty much any measure you care to use (wealth, employment, crime, health, education, quality of government, quality of police) we are in the top handful of places.

Someone tell me where these magical places are that are so much better than the UK...

Do I need to research it.  I've only mentioned my own personal experiences.  I found it far easier when I was out in America last summer to live.  I can't find work in this country and have a potential good opportunity to back over to Florida.  Are you seriously telling me living in Doncaster is better than Florida?  What kind of work do we see in Doncaster at the moment?  Not a lot that's for sure.

I even went to a different school to my sister because the council decided that was the way they wanted it to be.  They decided it was fair for two kids (me in year 9 and her year 7) to go to different schools after we'd just moved from Helensburgh in Scotland to Doncaster.  We were basically told it was tough luck, that's your precious Labour for you.

No, I didn't say owt about immigrants. Consider a couple of things - Prescriptions are free in Scotland and Wales NOT ENGLAND; the Scots have their own version of Parliament as do the Welsh for affairs concerning their own countries. The English do not have such a set up, anyhting to do solely with England can be trampled on by any Jock or Taffy in the Houses of Parliament. These are just for starters. I could go on but then everyone would be bored with it all.

I can't get any kind of allowance for my daughter, she's 8, because I'm in full time employment and my missus hold down 2 part time jobs. No help for us then, despite the cost of living rising day by day. I reckon that goes for a lot of folks on here.
Her school is for ever putting out the begging bowl because they can't get enough funding from central Government.

The local Council is making plans to put the tags on the wheelie bins, the County Council are putting up average speed cameras on lots of sections of roads around here, just revenue raising as far as I'm concerned.

Fuel prices are ever rising, food prices ever rising, Government ministers & local coucillors all have their snouts in the public funds trough and have no compunction in lining their own pockets.

We are all told what we can and can't do by faceless beaurocrats in Brussels with no way of saying NO to them.

As I said, when I can I'm upping sticks and off. That won't be before my daughter completes her secondary education, unless I find somewhere overseas she can continue in education that I feel happy for her to do and that she'll be happy in herself. My missus is of the same views as me.

Both mainstream parties have brought this country to it's knees over the last two decades, and enough is enough in my view.

Sorry folks. Working too hard when I should be paying attention on here. I must have imagined this thread.
