Splendid news, and it buys us time to find an adequate replacement.

I love you Sulli    :scarf:

If its the same rumour mongerer Im thinking off I think he might have got his wires crossed.I believe he was told something along the lines\"Ben smith was in the net for the swansea game and Sulli was dropped has it was his last game for Rovers\" him not realising they meant it was Ben's last game not Sulli's.A case of Chinese whisper's
Anyway I too am very pleased to see him sign a 1yr extension. When we got promoted to the championship I was a little worried he might not be upto it anymore but Im glad to be proven wrong for AND 2yrs now and still looking good enough.EEEEEEAASSSSY FOR Sulli!!!!!!!!!!

Good news.  Whether someone younger takes his place during the season will remain to be season.  That's the challenge for Woods and maybe one other.  Can they make do it?

It's a good situation as we have Sulli's experience not only within the squad but to help improve these youngsters.  A good challenge for young keepers also.  I hope one of them can stake a big claim but Sulli will do a good job we know that.

Don't worry, Snod, SOD said he wanted a striker, a midfielder and a CB and a replacement for all those that leave. Whether BS counts in that philosophy, mind.... as he was released and not offered a new deal.

I think we've never bothered having full-on competition for Sulli as he's comfortably been good enough for this level so with the budget as it is, why have another championship standard keeper on 3/4/5k p/w for the sake of one or two games a season - if anything had happened to Sulli for 6+ games there was always the loan market.

The releasing of Smith could well be to let him get the first team football he needs but it could also be a signal that we will move for someone like Burch to give proper competition for a year with a view to him being no1 2011/12.

46 plus the later cup rounds, I expect.  Maybe three playoff games too.

DID YOU MEAN THIS ONE ?

Get this one!!!! 2 Weeks, 5 Days ago
Informed by a reliable source (works at the club) that Sully has played his LAST GAME!!!!!!

and Smithy will be in goal at Swansea

when asked 'do you mean he is leaving?' the reply was.....no comment!!!!

Don't shoot the messenger, wait till Sunday to see if Smithy is in goal, then believe it.
