If someone refused to remove their rag from my line of sight, I'd have set fire to the fecker and serve the selfish cnuts right.

So you take a total strangers word and his side of the story as gospel without the Accused fans concerned able to tell their side of the story?Even in a court of law the defence have their say before the jury making their decision whether guilty or not.I am not saying its not true but I have learnt alot of people twist stories to make them look totally innocent while accussing someone else.

It was the above post that I took objection to, as you accused me of siding with Gills_fan. I had previously posted that we cannot take sides in an argument of which we don't know of any of the facts. My original complaint was that almost all the Rovers fans that had posted had done exactly that - shoot down Gills_fan for making the accusation, but without knowing any facts.

Whether or not the incident happened as Gills_fan described is another point altogether. My gripe was the thoughtless knee-jerk reaction of the posters here.

Ok,but when someone posts on here you have to accept its highly likely some will agree with you and some will disagree with you or even disbelieve you.Its all Part of the progress that is made through \"Debating\" :)

OK, thats sorted then!  :)

I have no problem with debates, as long as the posters have thought them through, and used a little intelligence. Some posters on here clearly have no intelligence, and therefore I largely ignore their posts.

However, occasionally, and in this case, I found they weren't contributing to a debate, but just belittling the original poster. This kind of thoughtless knee-jerk reaction to what may have been a serious incident, reflects badly on our club's supporters, and therefore the club itself.

Could you imagine if Gills_fan had written directly to DRFC, and got those responses? (Thinking about it, don't answer that!)

After reading all the posts on this subject. I can only come to the conclusion that the school holidays have started early this year.
Grow up children.

I agree with NigelJ here.
Reading some of the reactions to the accusations on here doesn't make me proud to be a Rovers fan.
If the Gills fan is telling the truth I can only empathize with him.
It would be naive to think that we don't have our fare share of knuckle scrapers who are capable of doing such a thing.

Much ado about nothing.

The guy starts a thread and uses an attention grabbing title labelling Doncaster Rovers' fans a disgrace and then later says it was never his intention to criticise the club. What an odd title in that case.

If the intention was not to criticise the club or its' fans then what on earth was it? Just to give us a bit of light reading? Are we supposed to do something with it? I'm lost.

Fair play if he's suffered a nasty incident, nobody likes that, but I'm lost on the point of this entire thread.

on hindsight would of been more interesting the flag blocking your view than watching that pile of shite perform.

Why not revert to the time-honoured solution when confronted by an offending flag?

Pull the bugger down!

What I'd like to know is what were Leeds United fans doing with a Doncaster Rovers flag anyway!

Everyone has missed the most important question from all this.

Is Gills_fan really Watford Anne?

Cant remember the last time a hand-grenade got rolled into the forum.

As long as it's not a genetically-modified stem cell hand grenade, then I'm happy.

And so probably is Anne.

Dead right, on behalf of all Thorne DRFC fans, can I apologise for these thoughtless old numpties, and assure you that if caught ,we'll sort them out for you, and exile them to Rotherham or L**ds.

a) We'll find out if it's Watford Anne because he'll post exactly the same message in four years time. ;)

b) If I was built like a brick shit house and I'd been knocked around by the cast of Last of the Summer Wine I'd keep quiet about it. ;)

C) I'm sure you'd've discussed this on your own team's forum either after the event or since you've been back. Could you post the link please?

If true, it's a shame.. ..............If it isn't, well they must have been caught up in the heat of a thrilling game.......well the heat can play dreadful tricks on the mind ( mirage anyone? )

At the end of the day, if this did happen how Mr.Gillingham sed then it is out of order...but don't come on a Rovers forum and tar us all with the same brush! There will be plenty of d*ckhead Gills fans so pipe down

It's the collective responsibility bit that gets me. If someone's smacked you then fair enough, you're going to be a bit upset.
I fail though to see how this is the fault of Rover's fans in general. Does anyone else remember getting together and voting for these alleged two to go to South Africa and pick on Gillingham fans? Was I off that day?

Big Man!

Me, if I got set on by Norah Batty and that harridan married to the bloke who used to be on Citizen Smith, I'd have no shame in admitting to babbing misen and doing the Denaby two-step out the joint.

taking a flag to a england away game was just as bad as taking
yer bint in tow

you had to be in ground earl doors as to get flag up,keep a close eye on during game, then lump it round withyou from pub to pub after the game

that was in my days of watching england 1980's to world cup in germany

would not take a flag again after poznan, poland in mid 1980's

never took a bird to a england game but have seen blokes that did and it looked the same stress

I took my ex-bird to a qualifier at Old Trafford a few years ago and she had the temerity to fall asleep onto me during the game from the excess of the previous evening. I vowed then - never again and have stuck rigidly to it depsite parting from her not long after!!
