Yes, i`ve found that as well, work is in progress trying to sort these issues out, don`t ask me though, because I haven`t got a clue about this web hosting lark!

Not moaning but informing, I couldn't access the site most of the time once kick off had occurred. I presume that too many were on and the site can't host them all, so a bit like the little one said, roll over and one falls out. If we can improve that situation soon it would be good, if it costs too much we will put up with it.

I think it's appropriate to confirm that our boys behind the scenes, including Bobjimwilly, Rob C etc., are working very hard to resolve the stability of this site.

Bobjimwilly was distracted from his enjoyment of the game last night, as soon as the site went down, to liase with the host to try and restore the service.

The VSC are considering all options/solutions to find out why we are losing the service too regularly before considering moving to another provider, which may result in us having to invest more funds.

Now I'm sure we would all want all options to be explored before we take this step however, the objective is to provide the best possible service to you all without going cap in hand to the membership.

Of course it goes without saying, the more non-members who join up or, may be new users we can recruit, the easier it will be to absorb these sort of costs.

The last thing we want is to lose any users due to the technical problems and, all we can say at the moment is please be patient with us and watch this space for further updates.

Is this the final version then? If so I won't back back too often. The colour scheme is too, well, grey! Lets get red instead of grey please.

I know the DRFC results haven't been too good recently but to go towards funeral colours is a bit premature! Next step from grey is to black.

Last few evenings been getting the 5...whatever number error message and not able to load the pages.

Brilliant efforts being made by you mods/site geeks, much appreciated but, please, no more grey eh?

FFS, what is the point of typing out a post only to post it and be told you have timed out.

Getting fed up now.

dont care about post numbers, do care about fiddling about getting things right and then losing them. ah poo.

Ditto for me too. I remember noting I'd passed 900 the other day but I'm on half that now. I wouldn't mind but I was \"buying a pint\" ;)

Seriously though - there should be no need to delete posts, reduce people's post numbers. It will have bugger all impact on the effectiveness of the forum.

We haven't deleted any posts! I've just checked the database and you do only have 1991 posts in there MrFrost.

What I think might be happening is your post count increases by 1 when you make a post, but then if you delete that post (or the posts is deleted by mods?) the post count doesn't go back down.

When mods then subsequently \"prune\" the forum via admin, it updates all users posts with the correct figure.

Not convinced by that - my posts went from 900 to 450. I've never deleted any posts or had any deleted by admin. Is there some archiving going on? I've never noticed it before.

bobjim, There are currently 70k posts in the forum, the other week there were well over 100k, so some posts have been deleted somewhere.

Yesterday I was showing as 2600+ posts and now less than 2000.

the same thing happened with me ages ago when we lost a load of accounts, mine went down from 1100 to about 800 but i was told there were only 800 on the database =/ to be honest i'm not really bothered, just pointing out that this isn't an isolated incident.

edit: and it looks like theyve dropped again, haha.
