So your complaing about the lack of noise? and yet you want me too stop drumming so other people can hear nothing. if i bang atleast it creates some noise and the other fans might choose too join in with it, take the drum away and all the noise goes because very rarelly does somebody apart from me start a chant..In responce too the singing section we've been trying too get it atleast trailed all season and the club would be more than happy to go along with it, however the stewards and police do not so there isn't much chance of it happening, if people want too sing them should join the south stand and help me get others going.
haa theres actually a trumpet lying around somewhere in the ground but i think that would be pushing it
Whilst we're on the subject about commitment and rewards, what makes you feel sufficiently rewarded for renewing your season ticket? This is something I've been banging the drum about for three seasons now. For all of you remember the stationery set with your name on the ruler, place mat and sticker for your car or, the FREE Beresford's replica shirt, did that make you feel rewarded for being a loyal season ticket holder ?Yes, they were nice things to receive BUT, would you have rather have been recognised by being rewarded with a loyalty discount off your next seasons ticket ?May I be so bold as to suggest that taking out the club scout offer, if they had rewarded you with £50 off the headline ST price, you would have been more likely to have thought, that's a good deal, I'll have some of that. So, they could have put the prices up by £20, but by being rewarded by the loyalty discount and paying less, would have made people feel better about handing over their hard earned cash.On top of that, introducing the instalments and a 'modest' cash back system for signing up new ST holders would result in a better take up ? You be the judge.
The point I made isn't about whether the drummer boy deserves one or not - that's JR's opinion. I don't mind either way, I think he does a good job and welcome his efforts.Baz - of course I wouldn't turn a free ST down - at the end of the day I spend around £4500 a season watching Rovers so \"every little helps\". I just don't think it is very fair on the others who've given so much more. Why not give a few out to worthwhiles each year? This whole \"ask not what your club can do for you\" thing is a bit undermined when some people have given their all fundraising etc and don't get anything (not that they want it I'm sure) and yet the drummer lad gets one. It just pisses on the chips of others in my eyes.In response to your question about reward - for me, I'd buy a ST if it was £1000. I never think twice about renewing, it isn't about what I get back ie quality of football, freebie shirt etc its about being addicted and (sadly for my bank balance) its one that will be very difficult to shake. However, it would be nice to feel wanted from time to time so a loyalty based season ticket would be great. Be a ST for 5 years, get your next at half price year, after 10, get year 11 free. ST or just ticket based schemes are best, it shouldn't be linked to shop bought purchases. It should be linked to away tickets bought, like you'd get 1 point for buying a ticket for Oakwell but 20 for Carrow Road etc. I know this then affects those that can't go to away games because of cost or family commitments but you've got to have some benchmark.
