Barnes isn't OUR player YET.

Disagree with Sullivan and Martin Woods too.

Yep, he makes his couple of bollox a year but he is lightyears ahead of Woods on crosses and coma ding his area. Woods is not good enough, in fact I think Warrington was better, but he is only young he should improve.

Spurr?? We have never seen him play, couldn't get in the Wednesday side last year.

It's a tough call, especially in midfield. I want to see more of Bennett and Naylor, too.

Baffled by people including Martis though. He was dismal last year. I'd put Hird there over Martis any day, or Bouhenna if/when we sign him.

Woods
O'connor Naylor/Rachid Friend Dumbuya
Stock
Coppinger Gillet Oster Barnes
Sharp

Subs: Sullivan Naylor/Rachid Mason Bennett Hayter/Brown

No need for full backs as subs as we have both sides covers as JoC & Muzzy can play either left or right and George can also move to the left. I also think Muzzy gets the nod over Spurr due to his pace and the fact he totally marked Dyer & Sinclair out of the match at left full back when we played swansea last season when they had been ripping defences apart before coming to the keepmoat.
Barnes over Mason in midfield IF Barnes signs, if not mason in the starting lineup and Woods on the bench.

G.Woods
O'Connor Martis Friend Spurr
Gillett Stock
Copps Oster/Mason Bennett/Hayter

He who should not be named averages roughly 20 games per season over his 5 year career so on the off chance of us meeting his demands he's unlikely to all of a sudden manage a full season given our performance with injuries?!

My offering based on current contracted players: -

Woods
Muzzy
JoC
Friend
Spurr
Oster
Gillet
Stock
Copps
Sharp
Mason

Each of the line up choices have there own merits.  Which for me just shows that we at last have a bit of depth in the squad.  Should be a good season.

How can you leave M Woods out when fully fit? Have you forgot how important he is to our midfield?

I think he's a decent player, but I don't get the hype. There doesn't appear to be one particular thing he's good at IMO. As far as I can see, Stock and Gillett offer more in that role.

He's good at free kicks when he's aiming for Row Z.

I'd go for a very attacking line up this weekend:

Woods

Dumbuya
Spurr
Naylor
Friend

Gillett
Oster
Coppinger
Barnes (if not Bennett)
Mason

Sharp

If we had everyone fit then O'Connor would come back in for Dumbuya, and Woods and Stock would have a battle on to get in that midfield, which is as it should be!

Completely disagree with picking Woods over Sulli as even though he isn't as sharp as he first was its the things we dont see that makes Sulli the better choice like organising the back four, being more experienced and i also think the back four feel more assured knowing hes behind them. So heres mine
Woods ;)

Despite having picked Woods in my team above, I can't argue with that. I'll have no complaints if they go with experience.

Left back is a specialist position. It needs a left footed player in that position. I don't know if spurr is that type of player. In my opinion we need to sign one.
