He`s not all bad though and does do charity work

Quote
In 2003, when he spat at a Celtic fan, he proceeded to donate two weeks wages to a charity of Celtic’s choosing. He is also founder and patron of The Dioufy Foundation, which focuses on helping the disadvantaged children in Senegal and the United Kingdom

Top class t**t no doubt but he`s better than what we`ve got at the moment and thats what counts in my eyes, have people forgot about some of the t**ts we`ve had playing for us before?

Was n`t Jamie Lawrence recently tagged when he played for us?

Colin Sutherland, say no more?

And who was that player that threw his wife down the stairs and killed her, I think he played for Scarborough as well, are have I dreamed that one up?

You haven't dreamt him up although those weren't the circumstances of his manslaughter charge, I believe it was a fight outside a nightclub? I believe the \"stairs\" incident happened to another former player. Not that its a trivial matter but I recall on one of the old forums it was worked out that we could put together a DRFC Prison XI.

Micky Norbury was the wife-and-stairs (I think it was his girlfriend actually). Jimmy Kelly was the one who went down for manslaughter after killing someone in a fight outside a night club.

Don't forget that we also had Billy Whitehurst. Similar sort of character to EHD- a very short fuse. Let's hope Diouf has mellowed a bit and concentrates on scoring goals.

We've signed a world class striker for at least a dozen Championship games, and there's angst on here that he missed Sunday school classes in Senegal in the late 80s.

OK, he's a w**ker, but he's our w**ker and he'll help keep us in the Championship.

I'm more interested/horrified about our internal and external media coverage over this relative coup.

The official site says the Diouf signing awaits paperwork \"clearence\", and the Sporting Life site says we'll need Diouf because our striker \"Billy Clark\" is missing through family issues.

Everyone keeps calling him a striker...hasn't be played primarily on the wing for the past several years?

I think it's safe to say the bloke is a cunt but he's OUR cunt. I don't care if he slaughters babies for fun and pisses on old ladies as long as he bangs 'em in for us.

I'm not sure if it's escaped anyone but we're in a relegation scrap already, lets at least frigging scrap.

Also he's been training with Wigan for a few months now so he shouldn't be massively out of shape.

So, as a club we've fielded drug dealers, wife beaters, people convicted of killing and amateur porn stars. Many of whome have been signed whilst Saint John Ryan has been chairman.

Family club my arse!

Thing is, he has not took a deal with other clubs (depending if he has actually been approached!). So if he is in the DRFC 'Shop window' using us as a stepping stone to greater pastures then SURELY he will realise that he MUST kerb it and be professional as if not no-one would piss on him if he was on fire.

Regarding lack of fitness, wasn't this said by some about Parkin and look at how he performed. He will have kept up with training and he must be a player who Saunders wants so is he key to the 'new' mould of DRFC??

We ARE the committments, and he IS our Mickah Wallace!!  :boxing:

Piers Edwards,
BBC African football correspondent
You can look at the move in two ways. Firstly, how the mighty have fallen after a man listed as one of Pele's best 125 footballers ever drops into English football's second tier at the age of 30. The other is respect for the fact that Diouf so loves playing that he's prepared to move to struggling Doncaster to continue taking to the field. Ageing he may be - but his class should still tell

He hasn't played as a striker for almost ten years!

He's also only scored 17 goals in the last 7 years..

World Class?!?!?

Diouf Quotes on signing for us

Quote
Diouf told Sky Sports News: \"I'm focused on doing my best for this club and after that we'll see what happens.\"

Quote
\"It's the challenge. I signed to help the team, do my best and play my football,\"

Quote
\"I'll try to make myself fit and why not try to help this team stay up?\"

That won't wash with some Rovers fans.

They'll want a one-on-one Q&A session with him, so they can establish exactly what he's going to do.

We all know the situation. He's here for 3 months and may leave at the end.  IF he plays well and moves good luck to him but we'll have had 3 months benefit of that.  If he's rubbish we'll let him go.  If neither of those happen he may actually want to play football, enjoy it here and extend his deal, either way it's a no brainer of a good deal, no way will we ever get a player like him signing a 2-3 year contract, why would a player of his stature want to join a club like us for any other reason?

Can we have him publicly flogged and made to repent from his sins and swear his lifelong allegiance to the club? would that be sufficient? ;)

Just to remind people of the outcry there was when this bloke joined:

Football stars jailed over brawl

Bristol City captain Brooker was jailed for 28 days
Three professional footballers who admitted taking part in a drink-fuelled brawl at a nightclub last October have been jailed.
Wales international David Partridge, 27, and Bristol City team mates, Scott Brown, 21, Bradley Orr, 23, and Steve Brooker, 25 were charged with affray.

On Friday at Bristol Crown Court, Orr and Brooker were jailed for 28 days, Partridge was sent down for two months.

He was also ordered to pay £1,000 compensation to a doorman.
City centre

Brown was given 120 hours' community service for his part in the brawl.

The court heard the quartet were on an evening out when violence erupted as Partridge was ejected from the Romeo Browns nightspot in Bristol city centre.

Prosecutor Robert Davies told the court Partridge \"lost control\" and charged at the club's doormen.

He became involved in a fight with the bouncers and his team mates then became involved.

Orr, who was sent off recently for headbutting a team-mate in City's 3-1 win at Northampton, was ordered to pay £2,500 in defence costs.

A spokesman for Bristol City FC said: \"The club is very disappointed by the judgement and, together with the players and their legal advisors, will be looking at all the options available to them.

\"No further statement will be issued by the club until these options have been clarified.\"

No i can't find it either - nor did anyone boo him when he came on to score the equaliser with his first touch in a Rovers shirt at Watford, hypocrites.

Diouf may be rubbish - but you can be sure he ain't any worse than most of the rest of the squad, and on a lot less money!

I think we've done this before, it's not some moral crusade about what he gets up to in his own time - it's about the potential damaging effect on the dressing room, and the subsequent effect on the whole teams performance on the pitch that is being questioned.
