Ikeme

Received high praise, and rightly so, from JR in todays Free Press. \"He will be sent back to Wolves with a glowing report\".
If only we could keep him. Looks like we're going to be back to square one again. How long have we got him for?

... or an injury to Wayne Hennessey whichever comes soonest.

One worrying thing though is Wolves Fans on \"The Wolf\" Forum are saying WH is off to Spurs in Transfer window SO if that is true Wolves will surely \"protect their investment\" and keep Hennessey in mothballs sooner rather than later.

I am enjoying seeing C1 play for Rovers though and hope we do cling on for as long as possible

Thought he was about 4th in the keepers pecking order at Wolves?

From what ive seen of him so far i cant see any reason that he's not good enough to get in the England squad, he really is a fantastic keeper, a cut above anything we've ever had including Sulli at his best a couple of years back. I'll follow his career with keen interest.

I think Dorus de Vries is ahead of him at Wolves.

I'd quite happily take him on loan instead if we can't have Ikeme for longer. He impressed me when he played for Swansea.

I never thought I'd see such a short sentence that has so much wrong with it :suicide:

I don't know what it is either Don, but to me he seems to be the kind of keeper who would bottle it in the Premiership. Goals would be leaked, McCarthy would eventually get sacked, the club relegated; sending Wolves spiralling down the football ladder, into administration and demotion to the Carphone Warehouse Midlands League Division 8.

McCarthy would be a fool to recall Ikeme.

It's best to leave him here a while to learn his trade in peace.

Really? Spurs have got a handful of top keepers. Friedel, Gomes, Pletikosa and is Cudicini still there?

Is Harry just collecting players to weaken other Prem squads?

.... maybe he will go ahead ... only passing on a rumour from the Wolves site ... it may be they see Hennessey as the Number 1 with Friedel as cover

Cudicini can come our way if CI goes home

Doubtful when Friedel is a far better keeper, maybe next season if age finaly catches up with him but can't see Hennessey wanting to warm the bench again having just become an established number 1 after losing it to Hannemann for a long while.

Spurs have also been linked with Krul, the Newcastle keeper.

...now HE does seem to tick every box. What a keeper he seems to be

Man U should be looking straight in his direction (but of course I hope they are not)

I agree with The Don. Ikeme is pants. He's scared to come off his line and doesn't look commanding enough for me. If I was MM I would have him as far away from Wolverhampton and Bilston as possible and let him rot with any old pub team.
