BENALDO Start writing that letter

Quote 'If Rovers have Hird and Friend playing at centre back and win, I will write to them and thank them'.

Time to get out your crayons out and write a note.

No get out, he didn't say how long they had to play for did he? Get them out Benaldo, wouldn't mind seeing the letter myself.

Still the fact that Freind had been switched with Lockwood (as opposed to Benaldo long lost love Beye) it compliments how good Hird can be, I at least expect a letter to Sam from Benny...

which in Benaldo's world was way enough time for us to be 3-0 down

Beye and Hird, 7 goals against in 2 games, Hird and Friend, Hird and Lockwood let in how many today? Of course they were playing a poor attacking team, with PL striker, who had struggled to put 4 past Leeds in their last game...

get Rigo to cook him a plate of dogs b*llocks for afters too... then he'll learn to keep his totaly unfair prejudices to himself

Can't believe Radio Sheffield didnt give true credit. 'Barsnley looked tired'  'They expected an easy game' and 'played 2 games in 4 days'

FFS we played how we should have 6 weeks ago,  they couldnt match us and we were brilliant in every position. Today they realised just how lucky they were at Oakwell when we didnt turn up.

Radio Sheff gave us plenty of credit. Ronnie Moore spoke very well about us.

Got to say that I am not Sam's biggest fan, but recently his defending has been pretty good. Just wish he could pass!

Same with Locky, not good enough for me, but yesterday he was terrific. Think he had a point to prove. Fair play to him.

After lengthy consultation with my legal team I can confirm the following -

1) George Friend did not play enough of the game to effect it's outcome.
2) I can only wish he had have not got injured so I could congratulate him on his performance and Rovers win.
3) Sam Hird played the best game I've ever seen him play.
4) Concerning the letter.....I could be a curmudgeon and say that because the two of them didn't have the chance to run into each other or trip each other up the \"Letters\" are null and void. However, because Mr Hird played so well, and to show that I'm not afriad of admitting when I'm wrong, I will gladly write a letter to him and print the contents of that letter on here. I will use the clubs address and hope they will forward it on to him. Contents to follow shortly.

For the doubters amongst you....(no switcheroo's, Wing Commander!) Posted just now to - Sam Hird, C/O DRFC, Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster.

Dear Sam

You won't know me. You may or may not have even heard of me. To put you in the picture, I am a regular poster on the VSC forum and go by the moniker of \"Benaldo\".

I have been moved to write this letter to address some shortcomings in my assessment of your footballing performances. I have, and it's been no secret, been possibly your harshest critic and have never held back in my views of your performances. Mostly I have said that you have played badly. However, I have witnessed a complete turnaround in your performances over the past month or so and it is because of this that I am moved to write this letter to you. I can no longer say you are anything but deserving of your place in the starting line-up of Doncaster Rovers. You have obviously worked hard and it shows on the pitch.

I can only apologise for not giving you the fair chances as a player that perhaps you were deserving of. I was wrong.

I wish you every success for the future and I hope that you continue to play a part in Rovers climb up the table.

Best Wishes

Ben

There. Never let it be said that I can't admit when I'm wrong and attempt to do the right thing!

And i think/hope/pray that if theres one thing everyone on this forum can all agree on its the last sentence about climbing the league, although part of me doubts that after some of the 'fans' that post on here recently)
