Diouf???
« on February 02, 2012, 08:14:06 am by Mr1Croft »
If he doesn't sign a new deal before 12 tomorrow does that make him illegible for the Reading game, as he is now out of contract and therefore no longer registered a Rovers player?

I'm hoping for a conclusion today, but I doubt that will be the case...

As far as I'm aware we'll still hold his registration so he can play. He'll go on either a weekly contract or on non-contract terms.

If he's stalling because he's got something else in the pipeline then I guess he might agree to a weekly contract. However, I think it's time to get it sorted one way or the other. If he doesn't want to commit till the end of the season we'd be better off using any money earmarked for him to bring in a striker on loan.

Diouf will only be 'illegible' for the Reading game if Harry Redknapp fills in the team-sheet

Empty words, he also agreed a deal in December but never signed it, so until the deal is signed i`ll reserve judgment

Well, given that they've agreed a deal with him twice, surely it suggests that there's at least a good chance he will sign.

I take it that no other team we're willing to offer him a contract then.

Why do you come to that conclusion? I think he had plenty of offers,

He has said it to the press, and I've spoken to him personally on the day of the proposed 18 month contract signing. He said he was staying but only until the end of the season which contradicted the media reports. When he will then take up one of these lucrative offers..

Considering which league we're most likely to be in next season I'd say that's a realistic ambition ;)

Will be a struggle for top 6 i think. Bournemouth seemingly splashin the cash, Crawley look like they'll be pushing for another promotion too. then we've got the teams that'll miss out on prmotion this season, looking strong again next.
