I'm watching, decent game so far, glad I had a kip straight after the Chelsea game though!

Oh and Madonna... still would!

Yeah, interesting game. Wish my Niners were there though.

As for Madonna, all style no substance. That goes for the perfomance and the person.

Just back from a Superbowl party.  The first half was good, but I left early during the Madonna dance to come home to watch Downton Abbey!   hee hee!   I thought Madonna's act was boring as it was the same song/dance type thing from 15 yrs ago.  Apparently she is doing it for free as she has an album coming out.

But I hope you lot don't get the constant barrage of ads.  Budweiser, Mitsubishi, VW, and the awful one with Elton John and the winner of our X factor for coke (I think).  And in between the ads there is a little american football!  Sadly, the game is famous now more for the ads, than the game.

I think Chappers is doing a decent job.  You can tell it's not his primary interest but a bit like Jake Humphrey on F1 he knows enough to get through it and has a bit of personality about him.

I started off watching the Sky broadcast... and lasted ten minutes!  It's worse than watching the proper american one!

Sky+'d it because of work, just finished watching.

The Patriots playing Gronkowski was like Suanders playing Billy in a Cup Final at 70%. When you can't utelise your main offensive weapon in the biggest game, you're pretty screwed. Props to the Giants defence though, they did a great job holding Brady in check.

And Mario Manningham....i've been watching football for 30 years now, that was as good a catch as i've ever seen given the situation.

Roll on our season start in April

The Giants have amazed me. I saw them a few weeks ago on Sky and they were awful. To be honest, I didn't expect them to get past the Wild Card game. But that's what winning play-offs is all about- timing your run right. Green Bay and the Pats were going off the boil when they played the Giants.

I still think the Saints would have slaughtered them, if only we hadn't lost a narrow one in SF.

Been a Patriots fan for 25 years. Watched it all last night and although gutted i didnt expect the Pats to win. Im suprised they got to the Superbowl in all honestly. Any other head coach in charge and they probably wouldnt have got to the playoffs. A tale of missed opportunities (Welker, Gronk, Brady dumbass throw ) and another great catch from Manningham. How many 3rd down conversions did Manning get ? shit head !!!!

Best team won on the night

Giants were 2nd favourites with the bookies last night. Couldnt believe it.

Who says the bookies are never wrong ?

The Giants are one of those teams you just can't bet against once the playoffs roll around...annoyingly.

Just hope my Redskins manage to trade for a decent QB this off season...and if the rumours are to be believed, it could be Manning Snr if his neck gets the all clear. Especially if they take RG III or Andrew Luck in the draft.

Mind you, wouldn't mind Matt Flynn from the Packers...can't see him sitting behind Aaron Rogers for much longer.

Bring back Joe Theissman i say

Chuffing hell, Theissman must be in his mid 50s now.  Great player, mind.

Those were the days, werent they?  Theissman, Aikman, Payton, Marino, Perry, Elway, Rice.  All brilliant.

Great memories Mark. I remember going to the NFL shop in Leeds to buy a jersey with Marino on the back. I can't remember any of their running backs from that era.

Let's just say the Dolphins used their backs 'sparingly' with Marino under Center. He had 'The Marks Brothers'..Duper and Clayton to aim at...what else did he need

Oh and just for the record...

http://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/miami-dolphins/roster/1986

Just looking at that, they had Ron Davenport, Tony Nathan and Lorenzo Hampton vying for time in the backfield..all highly regarded backs at that time. But he was that good through the air, they were all under used.

Talking of 1986, just checking the draft from that year. Now to the uninitiated, the names won't mean a thing. But some of the players listed here are legends. One of my all time favourite players was drafted No.56...Tom Rathman. Now he was a proper throwback Full Back !!

And Bo Jackson the No.1 pick ! Whatever happened to him ?

Just had a look through that '86 draft. Not many names stand out to me. Mark Rypien had a decent career with the Redskins. Webster Slaughter at Cleveland too. Remember Ernest Givens too. Wasn't he a big receiver for Warren Moon at the Oilers?

49'ers stand out TE, Brent Jones, got picked by the Steelers in '86.

There are more famous' names on that list than you might remember.
