There must be something in it for us, and hopefully will enable Saunders to bring in more players, because we do need them.

Just what I was gonna post. Only issue I see is if this allows us to get the remaining players we need and he ends up getting injured and coming back to us that blows the budget wide open.

Can you end fee-paying loans early? I don't think you can, unless that's only you can't recall them early.

Could be a win win, he goes on loan they pay a fee and his wages for the full season. We bring in the players required to maintain a challange win promotion and take him back next season when we are in the championship.

Is it time to wake up yet

Just goes to show the state the dingles are in when they have to take one of our players from the league below and that player can't even make it into our starting 11   :woohoo:

& he's entitled to a testimonial? nah! If you go t'Barnsley don't come back!

We can't budget to sign players long term if Copps is still on the books for next season surely?

Very sad if true. I understand money is tight but Copps is one of the players I would love to keep. Real end of an era if he goes. Hopefully he comes back once money is a bit less of an issue and doesn't really want to go to Barnsley.

Hey Big badJack, are we talking about the same player? Coppinger? Played for Arsenal of the North? Now you don't like him?
Amazing. Maybe he prefers life in the upper leagues or something?

State of Barnsley? That'll be the well run small club down your road. The one that DIDNT go down.

 :crying: :woohoo:

Real shame that he's going to Barnsley, but needs must I suppose. We can't go through the season with a squad of only 17.

If it gives us the chance to get 3 or 4 players in then with a bigger squad. Plus Copps will be on a few grand a week. Need him off the wage bill. Got to be realistic

You really do go OTT at times. Really? He's a footballer. He'll probably retire in about 3 years anyway. I love Coppinger, don't get me get me wrong, he's a legend here. But so was Mcindoe, Wellens, Stock, Sharp, Mills, Blundell....Everyone moves on. If anyone I'd have thought Copps was going to be the first to go!

Never said I didn't like him fiftrix I'm saying a championship club are wanting to take a player who can't get into the starting 11 of a team in league 1, sounds desperate to me

so with beye, stock, friend and joc, four of our big earners gone copps must be on a real big wage if it gets us 3 or 4 decent players in. good luck copps even if it is the dingles you end up with.

Annoys me that he's going to Barnsley of all places. Lost a bit of respect for him to be honest, great player though!

why have you lost respect for Copps for going to Barnsley.
Not happy that he is going there myself but what is he supposed to do.
Frozen out here warming the bench when he should be on the pitch and it is quite obvious that he or his wages are surplus to our requirements.
