Remember it well- a boiling hot day and a dreadful start to the season. We ended up playing the men from Turf Moor five times that season- twice in the League, once in the LDV and twice in the FA Cup (a replay at BV following a draw at Turf Moor). We lost four and drew that one Cup tie.

Rovers won only one game before Christmas and Billy Bremner departed in November, but we managed to avoid finishing bottom of the Football League on the final day of the season.

I remember that. I am sure we had Burnley fans on the town end for that game.

If I remember correctly that one and only win before Christmas was 3 - 1 against Wrexham. The day Mrs Belton ruined my life   made me a very happy man - 7th September.

I remember Burnley had one of the best away followings we recieved in those days. They usually gave them an extra section, usually the rosso end of the main stand terrace.

Yeah your right they did.

I remember a game against Chesterfield, near the end of the season as they were about to get promoted and they had fans in all ends. That was the time of in the inflatable toys!! Am I showing my age?

I remember freezing my nuts off there around that time on a Tuesday night. Might have been that LDV game. It's all a blur these days.
