There's so many to choose from for me. Thornton v Villa I think is my favourite. . .

For obvious reasons I've got to say Billy's goal last season against Boro

Do you lads realise the Thornton goal was going to hit the corner flag if it didn't take a massive deflection? For me either Brian Stocks goal against Huddersfield that was on sky or Martin Woods chip against Forest.

Was an awesome goal, McIndoe took the corner and Rigo smashed it home. Wasn't caught on camera either, which is such a shame as it is probably the best I have ever seen live.

Tommy Gaynor v Rotherham at Belle Vue. We beat them 3-1 I think (memory fade due to age!!)
Picked up the ball just inside our half on the touchline & went straight for goal cutting inside & beating 4 - 5 players & slotting it in to the back of the net. Or any of Tim Ryan's screamers!!

For some reason one of my favourites was our first goal in league 1. A standard Tim Ryan screamer, against Blackpool and if I remember rightly it went straight through his hands. Great start!

Tommy Gaynor at home against Blackpool in 87-ish.

Anyone who was there will know why. Made this goal by George Weah look like nowt, because Tommy rode twice as many challenges.

Thornton's goal against Villa took a massive deflection. I'd say Heffernan's goal was the best of the lot that night. I really thought we had a rising star in Lewis Guy; that first-time pass was sublime and Heffernan's control and finish was top class.

As a technical contact of foot-on-ball, I doubt that any Rovers player has ever bettered Elliot Ward's goal at Hillsborough.

Mind, Alan Little had a few 30 yarders that might have pushed it close.

The best Rovers goal I ever remember was Tommy Gaynor and I always thought it was against Blackpool. I know he only played for us a few times after it. And it was the one where he ran the length of the pitch.

Anyway the best goal I've seen scored against Rovers was a similar effort where the ball was picked up on the edge of his own penalty area and the young lad ran the length of the field and slotted it past our keeper. The scorer was a Robbie Blake, then of Darlington. I wonder what happened to him?

I seem to remember Ricky Ravenhill smashing in a belting 30-yard volley against Southend at Belle Vue one season, out of absolutely nowhere. Also I'd nominate any of Brian Stock's 30-yard specials. Another special goal was Copps' 2nd in the 5-1 win v Southend. Looking back, look at where he receives the ball, middle of nowhere on the right flank. He skins about 4-5 players and clips it in with his left foot. Incredible goal.

One that usually gets forgotten, also, because we lost - Dave Mulligan's free kick in the 3-1 defeat at Hull in 03/04.

No, Wilson crossed it to the far post and Green smacked it on the volley into the far corner

Both of Jason Price's against Barnsley are two of my favourites.  Another one is a Leo Fortune-West goal at Belle Vue.  I can't remember for the life of me who it was against, but he was having a very 'ineffective' day, when out of nowhere a low cross came to him at the edge of the box and he somehow rifled a falling volley past the keeper.

Tierney's. Not necessarily for the quality of the goal or the move leading up to it, but for what it meant to me and us as a club. Up there though are that Sharp goal v Boro and the Brooker goal v Leicester, if it was top 3.

Apart from the ones mentioned;

Gareth Roberts bicycle kick volley Di Canio style against Southend in the 3-1 home win in 2007/08 season.

Mcindoe rounding the keeper against Arsenal in the league cup.

Wellens vs Coventry. 30 yarder in our first home championship win.

Gareth Roberts lobbed shot from the wing against Ipswich in 2008.

John Spicer vs Plymouth; charging across the pitch to drive a low first time shot to put us on our way to staying up in 08.

Hayter vs Leyton Orient; overhead kick from close range.

Best goal conceded; Dave Kitten for Reading at the KM, with a brilliant first time curling effort late in the game.

Matt Mills own goal vs Grimsby for the sheer comedy aspect
