Totally agree - 50 league goals in a season between them says it all. The only semi-challengers in my lifetime were Kitchen & O'Callaghan, and they had Ian Miller to feed from. In terms of actual class Sharp & Hayter wasn't a bad combo IMHO, and some of our current pairings are decent as well.Rovers record for pair is 66 league goals in a season shared by Clarrie Jordan and Paul Todd in 1946-7. Amazing how much 1946-7 is cropping up this season. Shows how well we are doing.

Short lived but Blundell and Bayo for me. Whilst not prolific I always thought Kirkwood and Duerden were on a close wavelength.
Agree with both of the above but too short term to count I'd think. We would have stayed up last season with the top pair
I can only go back to the 80's but think we would have won promotion with the Jones/Muir partnership before Jones' altercation and neck injury
