Just goes to show, that the comments of putting these wasters in the shop window to secure them moves to top flight teams was utter horse shit.
Who was the other defender we had who no one ever saw? The one who could get Barcelona tickets I think.When you look back now, it just proves how ridiculous it all was.

We just got the wrong players. And Fortune was by far the best one - it did of course work for him as he got his place back in the WBA team.
It's easy to slag Willie and his mercenaries off but with Billy injured, Hayter leading the line, big Sam Hird at the back and a squad full of crocks we were never going to stay up anyway.

The only chance we had WAS to try something. There was a point (Derby then Millwall at home) that we looked like we could do it. Lost them and down we went.
