Belle Vue Bar
« on February 17, 2013, 11:04:32 am by RedArmy »
Is the belle vue bar showing the game tomorrow night?
Think it would be a good idea for those who can't get down due to work and what not to be able to go to the keepmoat and watch it with fellow rovers supporters.

How much is a pint? Never been in before and i suspect most places will have United on.

Hadn't thought about it clashing with the Man Utd game. Was planning on watching it in town, but i'm guessing Man Utd will be shown in most places.

I got assurances that it'll be on in the Tut despite the United game so I shall be camping there for the evening!

Tut it is then!

From someone that`s quick to criticise the club when they don`t try things, I would have thought you`d be the first through the doors at the BV bar putting money into the club coffers!

Why? It's hardly convenient for where I live. Plus, I don't like the place. That okay with you?

Could n`t give a shit where you watched it, it`s your hypocrisy that amazes me, you bang on about marketing and ticketing and how the club are not trying, and when the club does try something you decide to take your custom elsewhere.

I assume you live next door to the tut if the BV bar is not convenient regarding where you live, the tut and BV bar are barely a mile and a half apart!

Filo, what about the thousands who have slated the clubs marketing... Are they hypocrites too if they don't watch in the Belle Vue Bar? Or just inspector Frost? We'd have an hard time fitting them all in.

Isn't about time your moderating status was removed? You seem to get off on slagging off other forum users for absolutely no reason, with no consequence.
I wasn't even aware the BV Bar was open until I saw this thread, so clearly they have done a fantastic marketing job as usual. Doesn't take away from the fact I don't like the place, and wouldn't choose to drink in there.

Maybe Mr Frost wants the club to try harder because he wants the best for the club and the community around it, rather than just thinking about himself.

And I'll be honest. Some of the steps taken this season by the club have been fantastic. Such as the incentives for season ticket holders.

Nothing like a bit of personal abuse because someone objects to where I choose to have a pint and watch the game.

It would be nice to hear the Club bar was full for the game. Good to have a focal point. I'd go myself but driving 18 miles to drink coke and watch tv isn't filling me with joy. I'll be on the settee with a couple of cans.

Shouldn't moderators abide by the same rules as set out for the rest of forum users? You are quick to impose your "rules" on everyone else.

To be honest I agree with Filo on this, you are rather quick to criticise the Club on all sorts of issues, yet here's an ideal opportunity to support an initiative they are promoting.

Do you know what? I was gonna go across to my Local tomorrow night in Bentley to watch the game, but I think I'll pop down to the KM.......Im assuming it won't be an issue taking my 8 year old daughter will it?

I don't for a second think that Filo has said anything in this thread (or any other for that matter) that warrants he loses his moderator status. He merely challenged Frosty on an issue that Frosty frequently posts his views about, are moderators not allowed to challenge other people's opinions or contribute to debate?

Besides, I will vouch for Filo here, there is no moderator that dedicates as much time and effort as he does. Despite having a job and a life he has spent more time on this forum than any other user and a lot of this is scanning the forum to carry out his moderating duties. This is a voluntary position and I don't think anybody can question his commitment to not only this forum but the VSC and every decision he makes is done with the best interests of the VSC Members, who ultimately pay for this forum.

Going back on topic and I think this is great, just a shame I'm travelling down to watch it...

I've never criticised the bar so it's irrelevant.
Just think its a joke that some people haven't got anything better to do than have a go at people over what pub they wanna watch the game.

I didn't know it was on in the BV bar tomorrow, and I'm playing at the KM at either 8:00 or 8:30 - so i'll finish my game and head straight to the BV bar - and to be fair if Filo and Frosty hadn't had their discussion on this thread - I wouldn't have known it's on in there at all - cheers chaps! ;)
