That sounds like it has the potential to end up a Rod Hull moment, Jenny.  Careful, now.

Moorends and Thorne still very light snow, seems this end of Doncaster towards Scunthorpe is looking half decent. Im more optimistic than I was this morning but it will all depend on tonight. Really dont want it to be called off...

It's forecast all night so I personally reckon this one is doubtful!

Scunny will have the covers on early I reckon, and just read on their forum from an official source that there was no snow or frost on the pitch at 2pm, so I reckon precautions will have been taken.

Expect an appeal for fans to help clear the overnight snow in the morning.  Might pop over early to help out if required.

Forcast to hit heavy from about 2am I think, and stay in the area until about 1pm

Very surprising that, it's been chucking it down and settling in Sprotbrough for 2 or 3 hours now.

Can someone do the night shift to keep us with an hour by hour update ?

Drove through Bawtry an hour ago, settling there. Got to Westwoodside, easing off, Epworth next to nothing.

So far...

Working all day at Winterton, Scunthorpe and left approx 7:00 p.m tonight . There hasn't been any snow/rain  or sign of snow/rain all day but it was bitterly cold and I mean BITTER all day with heavy winds.
Unless there are heavy falls tonight or a very deep frost then I can see no reason to call this game off.

I can assure you it is not settling in Epworth, barely snowing TBH... I'd post a picture but it's too dark  :headbang:

Maybe the game could be called off due to treacherous travel conditions, really hope this games on bool looking quite unlikely now  :(

I dont think that is a valid reason tbh Dave, if the pitch, the stadium and the paths/roads and closest possible access routes are fine it will go ahead.

My fear is the snow comes later than planned and the game is aboneded as Rovers lead 3-0...

If the pitch is covered properly then subject to tonights conditions there is little reason to postpone this game. I live in Thorne have travelled this route tonight and yes it's very windy but 'unlikely' definitely NOT at this stage. Your comments puzzle me and your reasoning........is Donny-Scunthorpe deep with snow that I didn't spot ?

Hope you're right, but can't councils get involved?

I can safely say though, that I have never been more interested in the weather in my life! We're like old grannies...

It's settling here in Cantley, and I was assuming most of Donny was the same. There's still 16 hours to go yet.

Have the buses stopped running early tonight?  There has been a bloke sat in the bus stop opposite my house for the past 40 minutes.  He's just got up and gone home.

You can check your route here http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/

Doesn't take much to cancel a route in this country...

Within seconds of my last post 2 buses turned up.  No good for the poor bugger who sat there freezing his nads off until he could take it no longer.

Just been out in the car on a scouting mission.  The main roads are OK.  The estate roads are treacherous.  Great for handbrake turns, though.

Isn't Glanford Park based on a biscuit tin design?  If so why don't they just put the lid on it?

I've had to knock the snow off the sky dish twice tonight...

Is that a euphemism?

Just got back from San Marino, plenty of snow on the ground in Belton and the roads are treacherous! Hard to say what the pitch is like, but there's definitely a good fall of snow east of Doncaster.
