@Walkerpw: Dickov remains hopeful ALL out of contract players will stay. Brian Horton confirmed as number 2. Paul Gerrard GK coach. Lee Butler leaves

I think the new Spanish guy sounds similar to Wellens with the potential sell on value to come from a 22 year old versus a 33 year old being a positive.

Its a shame for Butler but Gerrard is part of the new regimes ideas and philosophies and Dickov will want his own men. Sounds like things are picking up pace at Cantley Park.

A little worrying that Quinn wasnt at pre season training but good news that Spurr was.

That's not strictly what was said Dickos 1.

On Duffy it was that's it for now.
On Wellens a lot of things will need to change.
On Mvto, his contract ends in a week.

And on Butler, he's apparently our new fitness coach, ex-Oldham.

Paul Butler. Still at rumour status, but here's a bit on him when he was booted out from Oldham.

Interesting comment from their chairman saying
"The chemistry of our backroom team is not right,"

Hahaha bet that "wilts rover" feels silly now. What is it with all this "superierority" on this webiste?! From the few weeks I've been on here its always the same old people. I rekon nobody on here really knows a single thing more about what's goin on at rovers than anyone else. Sad really how some of you fans want to be better than others. Can't you just accept other people are ok too?

why would I feel silly for posting a hilarious humerous comment? Bit of an arrogant post from you though as from the tone and comment of your post you clearly feel superior to me.

I find that almost impossible to accept.

It's the one about working class, middle class and upper class I think. I'm sure it had John Cleese in it.

EDIT: There you go...

I would like to second that, he always showed a lot of passion on the side lines as if he were our manager, always had a smile on his face too.

He was very popular in the dressing room with the players.  Not sure what Gerrard is like in that regard, but he has big boots to fill.

I dunno Rob - Butler's size 11s are about the same size as you'd expect from another 6ft ex-goalie! I reckon he'll fit into em just fine - maybe a bit of adjustment to start with maybe an extra pair of socks, pink laces, silver studs -you know that type of thing!

But I'm sure PG will get used to em soon enough!

A new boss will invariably want to bring in his own back-room team, but I feel sorry for Lee Butler.
He always seemed a huge character around the club and a very popular guy with the players.

Many thanks for your contribution Lee and good luck for the future.
