Blackburn Predictions

I'm feeling quite optomistic about Friday.  First point on the board for the new season, 1-1 draw.

Thoughts

I'm going for a draw

0-0 or 1-1

Nothing too exciting.  :aok:

1-2 Blackburn have got a decent team together and and a really strong centre half partnership in Dann and Hanley so can't see us scoring more than one and can see Brown struggling by himself against them two and becoming isolated.

If we get a goal it will be a headed goal.
Our midfielders need to get in the box more.
Still struggle to see us scoring any goals.
Think our defense is suspect enough to give Blackburn a few good chances.
It's whether they take their chances.
Possibility of a bore draw but will go for

0 - 2 Blackburn

5-0 Donny. Blackburn have had a sluggish start, and rumour has it the Venkys are watching closely. I expect them to start shakily and get worse.

Ever the optimist eh?

A Blackburn fan on twitter put that they have 5 players out for international duty, not sure how true that is but if it is it does leave us with a good chance of winning 1-0

I thought the threshold was about 3 players out for international duty and you could resched???

I think it will be very difficult for us. If you look at both teams player for player, they are better than us. Spurr v Husband, Rhodes v Brown etc etc.

As for crowd. There were 9200 there v Blackpool, including 1200 plus from Blackpool. Can't see Blackburn bringing that many on a Friday night and I'm not sure there will be as many Rovers fans there for the same reason.

I'm working and m brother-in-law is away, so that's two less!! 8500-9000

I thought that was only for the formal "international breaks" where all the championship fixtures are off irrespective of call ups?

I think he was comparing like with like, not those who would face each other...

I went on Blackburn's forum when they signed Tommy, just to see what they were saying etc and I noticed a thread called 'Squad list 2013-14', so I had a look, they've got a decent squad, e.g. that Josh King who was at Man Utd, Norwegian International. Alan Judge teared us apart at the Keepmoat from wha I remember, plus many more. Like us though, their manager isn't the most experienced at this level.

Quietly confident, if we're firing on all cylinders and Keegan or Syers perform with Furman being in SA, then a 1-1 draw, Duffy with his first DRFC goal.

8200-8800 attendance.

Just like vs Blackpool, husband will get torn a new asshole by the Blackburn attackers. He is definitely the weak link and if he plays on Friday then just watch Blackburn exploit his side all the time. We desperately need a left back even more than we need a striker.

If we still had Gary Woods in goal I'd say 0-3 Blackburn. I've got a lot of confidence in Turnbull so I'm going 1-1. If we get our first point on the board I'll be happy.

2-1, either way.

Syers has to start for me, possibly ahead of Duffy. More reliable to get into the box and gamble as he showed numerous times last season.

We'll probably get outplayed but Rhodes will be marked out of the game and we'll defend grimly and nick a set piece goal at the end! 1-0 to the mighty rovers!

I think its going to be 3-1 to Donny, sorry Tommy but you get sent off, and Rhodes gets substituted BEFORE halftime.
The Missus thinks Donny to win 2-1.

Grant Hanley is starting for Scotland that surely rules him out? Rhodes misses out to Kenny Miller (somehow) and is in the bench

Hanley won't be ruled out he will probably go straight back to his club tomorrow.
