Plug-face Bale
« on September 02, 2013, 10:17:48 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Just heard summat on 'News at Ten.

Apparently, this Vodafone deal today, selling Verizon for £85bn, is bigger than the GDP of Hungary.

So, the whole output of 10 million Hungary in one year could only buy 1000 Gareth Bales. Or, Bale is worth as much as 10,000 Hungarians.

The world has truly gone f**king mad. Fu*king mad.

So Bale is NOT the best player in the World, but has sold for the most money ever........so how much money would you need to purchase Messi ?

Perhaps all future transfers can be measured against the GDP of Hungary.

I wonder what proportion of Hungary's GDP James Harper would be worth?

Anyway, Bale's move means that they won't be selling the famous "Gareth Bale tea tray" in the Spurs shop any longer. The tray wasn't pretty to look at, but it was capable of carrying ten mugs.

I don't give a flying f*ck about a figure. Whatever it is, it's f*cking obscene. It's a symptom if the moral decay that has gnawed at the heart of the c*nts who run the world. (Matt Johnson. I want a share of the royalties if you use that one.)

Over the last 35 years, the salaries and "value" of the people deemed to be at the top of their professions have become totally detached from the values that the rest of us live by.

Bale's transfer is the crowning moment of the Thatcher/Reagan revolution, that set the top fraction of a percent free to make as much money as they can at the expense of the rest of us.

It is f*cking obscene. Utterly f*cking obscene.

The amount of money spent so far in England in the transfer window is more than the GDP of 12 nations (based on UN figures)

You c*nts who subscribe to Sky to lap up this farrago. Just think about how much of your money is being syphoned off into the pockets of agents.

Just think about it.

Then f**king grow up and cancel your subscription.

Any chance of making a point without the obscenities? Or are they needed to add credence to your points?

40 years ago, football was more meritocratic.

Shitholes from the East Midlands, barely bigger than Donny, could produce teams that could get to the semi-final of the European Cup. Or even win the c*nt. Twice.

That will never, ever, ever happen again. The game has been hijacked by the same c*nts who hijacked society.

Money men have taken over the game for their own benefit, just like they took over society for their own benefit. They squeeze money out of ordinary folk and pocket it themselves, by feeding them a diet of f*cking shite that demands constant superlative.

Bale is a perfect poster boy. A decently talented player, turned into gold dust by the Sky-addled system's need for constant superlative.

It is f**king shite on every level.

And daft t**ts lap up stories about Bale and Messi.

There are times when only obscenities will do. Usually when obscenities are being passed off as entertainment.

We've just seen a moderately talented player given a salary of £15M per year, and a valuation of nearly £100M.

You reckon that's a case for mild approbation over a cuppa and a Rich Tea?

Could not agree more. Fans' loyalty has been completely exploited and nobody will do anything about it. People seem happy to struggle to get by whilst still spunking money away on season tickets, merchandise and sky subscriptions.

Football has no soul anymore. Is there a glass ceiling?

I don't have sky sports, and I go to watch football at a club which struggles to pay a player anywhere near 10K a week...

Fine by me :)

Amen to that.....don't know how any self respecting football fan who cares about the long term future of the game goes anywhere near Sky to be honest.

Couldn't agree more , no way would I subscribe to the Murdoch Mafia. Also I think that's the reason that all this gadgetry has been introduced into football to suite the armchair fans (ie something to talk about by these overpaid so called pundits). End of rant.

Me neither Niteowler. I'm glad you fessed up to that. I thought I was on my own. eight back from when Sky first got football rights it was clear there was something wrong. The means by which that first bid was won were - and I'm trying, hard, to be none inflammatory here - out of a tricksters note book. A certain famous gent off current tv was also heavily involved.

I don't think Sky are the ones to blame for this. The Bundesliga receive £412 Million per year from Sky Deutschland for the TV broadcasting rights, while it isn't as big as the lucrative TV deal Sky now have it is still a heck of a lot of money. The difference in the Bundesliga is that 14 of the 18 clubs made a profit last year and the 4 that lost money only did by a small amount that was agreed in the overdraft budget at the beginning of the season by the shareholders (the supporters) and the football authorities.

The blame isn't with sky or commercialisation, its at the feet of the clubs and their failure to regulate themselves responsibly or sensibly. The FA are also to blame for allowing wages to rise way beyond the levels of normal inflation and agreeing to the breakaway of the top teams to absorb the majority of the income and as a result cause mass inequality in exchange for a better chance of English teams to compete in Europe. The authorities have also failed to get a grip on the game and watch from the sidelines as clubs implode into financial disasters and only get involved when it is too late, and only then they dock them 10 points!

The system we have at the moment only benefits a hand full of teams and what is perceived as being good for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham is perceived as being for the good of English football, and that is where the real fault lies!

Whoever or whatever is to blame it is a bubble that is sure to burst like every other asset bubble has .In the aftermath the clubs with no debt will be able to sort thro' the rubble .

The clubs in the premier league have spent or will spend over contracted period another £600million most of it going out of the country to foreign clubs and on foreign players. It like a little nation on its own. Will the government take them on to curb spending I am not sure. Is it right  in the period of austerity for the country that they operate in their own bubble. But player being sold for equivalent of 10,000 Hungarians  shows how big the PL as become.

Here's a simple question:

Is any profession worth £300,000 per week (that's 10 years work to most of us!), and if so, which ones?

(I certainly wouldn't but footballer in that list.)
